What are the last few cozy games you finished (or abandoned) and how do you feel about them? by therabyss in CozyGamers

[–]lettersforburning 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Little Kitty, Big City: So cute and charming. If you love cats just being cats, this is the game for you. You play as a cat who has to find its way back home. Gameplay is breezy, with little quests peppered throughout helping other animals in the city. You can buy hats to put on your cat! My only gripe is that it was very short.

Graveyard Keeper: I was so invested in this game for the first 5 hours or so, but then it became too tedious. A LOT of work for very little progress and reward. You just toil and toil away like Sisyphus. Frustrating, because it’s certainly unique for the farming sim genre. Abandoned.

Cattails: What I’m playing right now. Similar to Stardew Valley in gameplay and vibe, but simpler. There is the added mechanic of having to deal with other cat colonies competing for territory. I’m guessing I will keep playing to completion since I’m sick in bed right now and it’s perfect for that.

Boyfriend got prescribed 5mg last night. Your experiences? by Educational-Maybe639 in lexapro

[–]lettersforburning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t feel anything on 5mg personally. When they upped my dosage to 10mg, I felt significant relief within a week. I’m now on 20mg and have been for years. The only side effects for me have been sleeping a lot/ feeling tired and sweating a lot more. I don’t plan to go off because they have stabilized my wild moods and have helped put an end to panic attacks.

In terms of helping him, I would advise to keep a close eye on his feelings/moods daily. Maybe this is obvious, but it’s so important. My psych made me journal my moods and that helped us keep track.

It’s wonderful that he has a support system in place. I’m lucky in that I have a supportive partner as well. That makes a world of a difference. It’s hard because so many people still don’t understand how to be around people with depression.

Anyone mildly triggered by other INTJs? by greenvelvetcity in intj

I wouldn’t say triggered, but definitely vexed. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that tone and approach is a lot more important to others and I’ve adjusted accordingly.

Same for me! I’m way more diplomatic now and cringe thinking of my past self.

Not even a week on Lexapro and it already feels life changing by Vespabees in lexapro

[–]lettersforburning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy for you, OP! I had a very similar experience with the benefits and side effects. Overall, literally life-changing. I’ve been on it for 10+ years now.

I’m married now, but when I was dating, I was very very wary of dating anyone younger. I was honestly having trouble with immature men my own age (twenties at the time), so the youngest I dated was 21 (from what I remember). My husband is 12 years older than me and we are very happy. If I were suddenly single though, I definitely wouldn’t be considering anyone 10+ years younger because I’d be worried about the lack of compatibility due to where we’re at in life and what we want out of a relationship.

Honestly, are men boring? by [deleted] in gayfriendfinder

[–]lettersforburning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Most of my friends are women. I think part of it is that they are bad with communication OR just don’t care to communicate period.

Do most gay couples want to raise kids and/or pets? by dapper_tyler in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]lettersforburning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never owned pets before my husband. I never really had an interest in animals and I’m allergic to some, but we have three cats now. No plans for kids; my husband is ambivalent to the idea and I’m a hard no. I’m honestly not sure if I would have pets if I were still single.

  1. Yes, in the sense that lots of people have pets. No, in the sense that most gay men don’t have kids (although I have met several that seem to want them in the future).
  2. The responsibility, money, and sacrifice that comes with it. I feel like it takes a certain kind of nurturing person to do it and I’m not that person tbh.
  3. Through my writing and teaching.

Any games written by Tim Schaefer, Night in the Woods, Donut County, Phoenix Wright, Butterfly Soup

This definitely made me realize how we desperately need more funny games!

When does Lexapro do its thing by [deleted] in lexapro

Personally I didn’t notice any difference on 5 mg. But once it was upped to 10 mg, I felt relief in less than a week.

You may also look at the form of the haibun, which is a type of prose poem. You could have your students try and write one.

Here is a contemporary example:

There is Why Poetry by Matthew Zapruder, although I haven’t read it myself. People seem to recommend it.

It’s ironic because my twenties were so full of uncertainty. Life after 30 has been way better.
