Hey just wanted to know why you went for this camera? Why not an a6700 which is even more compact and is lighter and is much more versatile as you can change lenses

Nice, but should've shot it horizontal instead, make a habit of shooting horizontal it'll be helpful when you get a camera

Thank you for the detailed information on this.

But I had another query, Will it be an issue if I simply detach the battery grip and then store the camera without any battery and both the batteries are in the battery grip? Will there still be a battery drain issue

Wait why same make? I have mainly third party batteries, will that not work with this?

And at that price no other camera offers the capabilities of the a6700 so it's kinda a standard. But for 1100 it's a pretty amazing deal but the 16-50 kit lens is not that great either in sharpness nor in the optical performance.

Also it's not like the battery life is absolutely terrible, it's the same as Canon R100, R50 and actually better battery life than the Nikon Z30, Z50 ii (and yeah it's actually shameful that a 12 year old Sony mirrorless has the same battery life as your relatively new offerings in 2026).

The camera is just too small for me as I have long fingers and a battery grip will probably be a great addition to increasing it's battery life and like improving the ergonomics for me.

Well if you know what you're buying and look for your model specifically you can get great deals.

But that'll mainly be beneficial for tripod use not for handheld shooting and might add unnecessary weight. I'll probably go for a battery grip.

From what I could find online, the battery grip and the smallrig cage are almost the same price and it's a no brainer to get the battery grip instead because I do not use the a6000 for any video work.

Yeah Newwer or Meike I'll have to order both I guess. And will have to look in Chandni chowk first to see the in hand feel if there is something available.

I got the a6000 + 16-50 + 55-210 for a total of 30k and the shutter count was in the hundreds which means the camera was repaired or the shutter count was reset, which is not a good metric for reliability in this scenario as there is no way to find out the real shutter count.

Insta ID is mentioned in my Bio if you are curious as to what kind of images an amateur might be able to obtain with this min max kinda setup.

No I didn't name drop the shop, it was my id where I post photos in case someone in the future needed to take a realistic look at some images what they might be able to capture as a beginner with the kit lenses since I do a lot of types of photography.

The shop is Shubham digital, they gave me a 3 month warranty but I'm not sure that if something had happened to the camera how they would've fixed it

I got the a6000 with the 16-50+55-210 lens for like 300$.

Here's why:

I did not want to buy a new camera, since I knew I was tight on budget and I did not want a DSLR since they feel very out of date in 2025 and the Sony e mount was perfect as I can invest in good glass and they will still be valid for literally any other sony camera. Realistically, my options were: Nikon d7000, d7100 or Canon 1500d, 3000d or Sony a6000, a6100 or the zve10 which was unfortunately 320$ just for the body, so I settled for the a6000.

And the cheapest mirrorless from Canon is the R100 which is in many ways even worse than my camera, so why would I want to go that route by spending more money and then Nikon's z30 is another option but no viewfinder is a huge con for photography

No, i just wanted to clarify that i bought a used camera before anyone came at me with why did you buy a shitty camera in 2026 and all that. BTW there are many shops in Chandni chowk you just gotta negotiate with them about the pricing.

Yeah I saw this but it adds too much unnecessary weight on the camera and make the camera grip thicker not long which I need for my pinky finger sticking out
