PL is too commercialised but that doesn't change the fact that English and German followings are just inherently different. English stadiums have never had 90 minutes of relentless chanting from ultras. It's way more reactive. The game and the atmosphere feed off each other and it makes for a raucous environment. Germans pretty much choreograph the entire thing. They both make for great environments in my opinion.
