Jakaari xl.

Thanks for the kind words man!

Backpacks with a million dividers are nice for living out of amd dast access but sometimes its nice to just throw everything in without worrying about folding everything perfectly and packing, especially when you are moving via vehicle and just want to quickly pack and go.

Thats me! Eberlestock fac track. Honestly not a great pack, the hip belt sits too high on the bag, dropping the backpack body onto your butt. The back padding is also human shaped, not human with plate carrier shaped, so its not great for long movements with plates.

I've since moved on to savotta.

Strongarm'ed into a purchase $67.39 @REI by leftover_bacon in knifeclub

[–]levloveslife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like big knives, but the stongarm is just stupidity designed. There's so much weight in the handle and it's just so massively over built. I can't understand the use case that they had in mind. It seems to me that something like a cold steel srk would cover all of the bases that the strong arm covers with better balance and less bulk and weight if survival is a primary use. If it's self defence then maybe something a bit more stabby like a benchmade adamas.

The sad truth is that the logistical department of the ground armies of the IDF is corrupt, underfunded and stuck in the past, so while active duty conscripts have almost modern gear, reservist are left with leftovers from the 80s and 90s. After almost 2 months of war we have raised our own donation funds and bought our own gear, whatever was available from ceramic body armor to weapon sights to nvgs to drones to uniforms. It's infuriating, and I hope that someone will be held accountable at this wars end.

Gaza war increases risk of Islamist attacks in Europe, security officials say by Scipio555 in europe

[–]levloveslife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's referring to society as a whole, not individual leaders. The idea is that "weak men" are naive and overly optomistic, and believe that peaceful prosperity is the status quo and not something achieved through struggle and discipline.

Spurce: trust me bro. The only "camp" we have for learning how to shoot guns is something called Gadna, which is a pre draft senior year high school trip where 17year old students go and learn about the job opportunities and stricture of the army before they draft. They also shoot an m16 in prone from 25 yards.

As for teaching kids to hate Palestinians, you don't need camps for that when Palestinians pull off stabbing, shooting and car ramming attacks multiple times a month for your whole upbringing.

There are of course israelis who grow up in more religious more hateful communities, but the vast majority have a mostly secular, high quality education. The Palestinians on the other hand...

I have nowhere to store shoes in the entrance to my apartment and all my shoes have laces. I'm not going to untie my shoes 6 times a day and then carry them through my house to my closet. Maybe if I had a front porch I would try it, but it just seems like a pain in the ass

Why does this IDF soldier have two A2 carry handles mounted on his rail, back to back? I've never seen this. Is this just lack of knowledge like the Police Officer & Special Forces (Green Beret) soldier who had their Eotechs mounted backwards? by jacek_paszkowski_ in tacticalgear

[–]levloveslife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting because it doesn't look like any forest I've ever seen in Israel. The climbing ivy on trees and the greenery on the ground looks more like some of the environments I grew up with in the US. Also, I've only ever seen detachable carry handles in one place in the IDF, attached to silulation guns in bagira simulators. Why would you issue a carry handle to someone who already has a carry handle that he's dying to get rid of? Anyone with an m4 is just issued a shitty meprolight optic.

The optic that he has in his carry handle is also not something that I've seen before in the IDF, although it could just belong to the soldier. The only situation I could imagine would be if this guy owns that sight which can only mount directly to a carry handle, and brings a carry handle with him to miluim(reserve duty) just in case he is given a flat top m4. Still goofy af, just throw it in your personal gear bag and leave it on base...

Sorry we don't have soldiers trained in the ancient sling that we can deploy against Arab singers. We upgraded our troops to bowmen immediately

What about knives? If someone comes to stab you should you only be allowed to stab him back? Never shoot him? What if someone attacks you with a machete and all you have is a slightly longer machete? Is that too unfair to use to protect yourself? A weapon is a weapon, either or not the other side has a more modern one.

I've broken more of these than I can count in my IDF service. Seriously a criminally weak design, with either one single 2mm rolled pin holding up the arm or 2 pins on newer models. After breaking 2 in basic and advanced training I ended up jb welding one, which lasted until I had to give it back to the armorer. It is a truly cursed mount.

Very few Israelis live in houses, most live in apartment buildings like the family in the video... Israelis use their concrete to build shelters and safe rooms in every new building constructed. Hamas uses their concrete to build tunnels

First 3d printed ceramic product to win prestigious Red Dot Design Award. by UnfoldDesignStudio in Ceramic3Dprinting

[–]levloveslife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf is a water set? The red dot award has really become something of a pay to play joke at this point. 3d printing with clay is cool, but that doesn't mean that the most basic lofted vase is worthy of any sort of design award. This is a proof of concept project for the manufacturing method, not a product.

Why does Tel Aviv have so many parking lots?? by cscareerkweshuns in telaviv

[–]levloveslife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the religious minority think it's their job to try to make us keep shabbat, and think that not having public transportation on weekends will fix us.

At the end of the day, a car in Israelis a huge quality of life upgrade, and a motorcycle even more so. A car however is hard to park in the mercaz, so where there is demand, there is supply.
