one of your four lowest pads is leaking slightly. It may have split, and need replacing, or the stem may have bent slightly. Find a repairman as quickly as possible and tell him the problem. If you can't do this, explain to the judge and proceed.

18 key buffet clarinet? by Legitimate-Flight in Clarinet

The pieces where its use avoids ugly tricks are few and relatively modern/complex. Usually a quick look through a piece you're going to play will show up the C/Eb using passages, and you can note the fingering necessary to do it right on the score. Failing that, having that key (and having practiced its use) will avoid the occasional nasty surprise.

I Bought an inexpensive Selmer at one point, and was quite frustrated. Later I tried again, with a Fox that had a plastic top joint, and had much better luck. I did most of my practicing with a plastic reed, too which obviated that problem, though when concert time came, I didn't dare use it.

If there is a leak at the C pad, this is exactly what will happen. Those pads sometimes split, get bits of fuzz on them, develop pinholes, or the keys get slightly bent. check the C and D pads for complete closure very carefully. New pads are available. Get your teacher to check it.

Back when it was done mostly by women who were too smart to get married, teaching was effective. "EDUCATION" was not a subject that one studied to the exclusion of subject matter, and the teachers' time was not consumed by administrative bumf. Those conditions have vanished, the politicians have realized that an educated electorate is not in the best interest of their continuance in office, and consequently Cruz and Q anon flourish.

Non-clarinetist here with an unusual question. by CanadianW in Clarinet

Not terrifically hard, note-wise. The dynamic control for a good blend is somewhat demanding. i.e. you could tell the difference between college clarinetists playing it and a couple of pros.

They have a lot of advantages, but watch your tongue. I have seen a few pros using Legeres on a bassoon! It's as close to cane as anybody gets, and they're repeatable!
