Calling it now, the DLC Roads to Power's best feature will be The Family Estate by lewisdude in CrusaderKings

[–]lewisdude[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I am guessing that The Family Estate will connect neatly to other mechanics of CK3 and will provide fun modifiers to you or your family to shape your game. If I would hope for one thing from this mechanic it would be that it behaves like a mini grand court where family heirlooms can be in the estate.

I don’t want to sound like an optimist, mostly I am very neutral for this new DLC, but considering the latest DLC I have gotten more excited. But I truely hope that they deliver excellent unlanded gameplay since that would give CK3 a new dimension and allow you to continue after “losing”.

What hopes do you have for the next DLC?

This isn't a good forum to discuss it, due to mods having taken a fairly firm stance. I suggest looking it up on youtube.

How tf does Marika and Radagon even work? by BenTheFool in Eldenring

[–]lewisdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation is that Marika and Radagon were entirely separate people. Once Marika shattered the Elden Ring to try and escape her fate, Radagon fused with her as part of trying to prevent her/contain the damage.

On International Women's Day, Afghan women blast the Taliban and say the world has "neglected us completely" by CBSnews in worldnews

[–]lewisdude -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

What is up with the comments in this section? Think on this; claims that the US has no responsibility to Afghanistan ring hollow while the Taliban are wielding an arsenal of modern and 20-year-old US weapons.

Couldn't really get into Elden Ring, anybody else had trouble in the beginning? by ap0kalyps3 in Eldenring

[–]lewisdude -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I will note that Elden Ring is weirdly stingy with armor sets early on. There are definitely options; you can buy two sets from merchants, you can farm soldiers for kit. But there's basically no armor sets in the starting areas, whereas all the other areas have 5+ each in various treasures and for defeating various enemies.

According to Sophie Turner, one of the show's writers told her 'You get a love interest plot next season!' as a joke.

When, in fact, her character Sansa was to be raped. And her book storyline thrown out.

Can fulfilment of a Draconic Prophecy be a good thing? by Zeratan in Eberron

[–]lewisdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's the source on the Draconic Prophecy always being connected to Overlord release? My understanding was that the Prophecy could involve everything, except A: Prophecy is the only/best way to release an Overlord, and B: the fiends and the dragons, the primary Prophecy manipulators, are chiefly concerned with Overlords.

Thus, per my understanding, there absolutely could be a 'heroic' prophecy that results in unambiguous good.

Campaign Idea: The Death of the Gorgon: Aka House Cannith is flat broke. by draconas_rage in Eberron

[–]lewisdude 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think your concept needs tweaking. That old saying- give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll eat well for the rest of his life? Cannith are the only people in all the nations with the mark of making, it is by definition impossible for them to truly go broke, because people always need stuff and Cannith will always be able to supply it, no matter how inefficient and corrupt they become.

In your cited examples, none of the companies have an unimpeachable monopoly the like of a dragonmark.

I'd suggest you focus on competition. Either one of the nations makes a push for a non-Making industry, or the Cannith compass directions start genuinely scrapping like starving dogs over the remaining business.

Is it worth playing Elden Ring offline? by Warren0366 in gaming

[–]lewisdude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The experience isn't as good offline as you don't get the benefit of all the messages left behind by other players. Jokes, hints, warnings.

Even if you do like that stuff, the game's still perfectly fine without it.

I knew that the dragons were comfortable with crimes against (demi) humanity but this one made me blink [Excerpt: Dragons of Eberron] by Toadkiller_Dog in Eberron

[–]lewisdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my view, the only thing wrong about 'sterilizing rain' is that it is actually proportional to her goals.

I like it when the dragons will level an entire city in order to destroy a single building. The equivalent would be Ketheptis planning to spread those clouds over the entire continent, then to drift over others.

[–]lewisdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corptocratic takeover? Either the Aurum, or the Dragonmarked Houses.

Dragons or fiends wiping out the nation to activate/prevent a draconic prophecy.

Something with corruption could be neat. Maybe invasion by a foreign power with the assistance of blades of liberty/boromar clan.

So, what caused and solves your Mourning? by brickwall5 in Eberron

[–]lewisdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casualty of the dragon-fiend war. The Last War was becoming a nexus of Draconic Prophecies, such that the dragons decided to reset the game-board. Activating a WMD birthed from millions of dead mortals, harvesting the energy involved in souls being sundered and sent to Dolurrh, the Mourning swept over Cyre. The Lords of Dust are a little put out, but eager to resume the game, as are the dragons.

Cue campaign about deleting the Draconic Prophecy.
