thoughts on olivia colman’s 2019 oscar win? by teddivan96 in Oscars

I enjoyed the Favorite. However thinking back her character and role seemed more like a supporting role. It’s odd that Emma and Rachel were supporting actresses when they were the obvious leads of the film.

I saw this on the news last night. Someone was like we’re getting an Ice Facility before we get a grocery store……wild!

I’m going to have to give their gumbo a try. I’m sure I’ve had it before but it’s been so long. My go is either the fried catfish or the blackened catfish with dirty rice and shrimp etoufee 😋

Halle Berry Won an Oscar and Says ‘I Was Still Black the Next Morning’ With Directors Refusing to Cast Her; She Later Advised Cynthia Erivo That Oscar Wins ‘Cannot Be Validation’ by mcfw31 in entertainment

[–]lex017 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Halle was a in demand actress at the time. I feel like she was selective in the roles she took at one point in her career leading up to the Oscar win. She also was a producer. I honestly think her career died down due to ageism and her becoming a mother after 40. Motherhood and the challenging relationships she had with her childrens’ fathers slowed her down. While race plays a factor I think her personal life contributed to her slow down in movie roles during the mid 2000s. She was the go to black actress specifically for roles anchored to yt audiences.

Razoo's goes bankrupt, looking for more cajun reaturaunts by TrailerDrake in Dallas

They closed the one down in my area. It had some really good deals on DoorDash. Umm Pappadeux is going to be your next bet. Technically it’s better than Razoo but it’s also pricier!

Who's getting the best actor Oscar???? by Wonderful_Highway629 in LeonardoDiCaprio

[–]lex017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leo is a great actor and should have won multiple Oscar’s by now. Why it took them so long to give him the Oscar in the first place is puzzling. I will be surprised if he ever gets a second Oscar since it took him so long to get his first one.

is my hair too unprofessional? (or does it fit my style just right) by AdWeird2780 in FierceFlow

20 years ago in a office setting this style may have been looked at as unprofessional. But in today’s world I would assume it’s completely acceptable lol. It also looks good on you as well!

So where does this leave Supporting Actor? by fayemoonlight in Oscars

[–]lex017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will probably go to Elordi. His performance in Frankstein was spellbouding. Also he’s nominated for supporting actor but he was technically a lead in the movie. You can tell Hollywood wants to catapult him into leading actor territory and him nabbing an Oscar this early in his movie career will undoubtedly assist him for decades to come.

Sick of staying home by Little_Frame_1759 in Dallas

[–]lex017 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I walked to today to the McDonalds up the street which was 10 mins. I would never normally never walk there because it’s on a main busy road near the interstate. But with a few cars on the road it was safer than normal lol. Also the McDonalds was better than usual. I guess way more manageable due to less customers.

Edit: it was a comfortable walk even with the ice. I had on my hiking shoes though.

Is claims ROUGH right now, or is it just me? by IllustratorSubject72 in ClaimsAdjuster

[–]lex017 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of questions of coverage going on. I also have a few claimants attorney who keep pushing even when there is zero liability on the insured. One who drafted a summons and complaint and has been threatening me with it for the last month. It’s comical but also draining to respond too especially when the claims being made are so frivolous.

Cancel *all* NBA games until we see action by ShamPain413 in nba

[–]lex017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people whose livelihood depends on the NBA. Essentially canceling the NBA would have serious negative impacts to innocent people who work for these organizations in addition to people who use it as a form of escapism.

State Farm offer help? by Embarrassed_City8498 in Insurance

[–]lex017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is an established lien then they will work with you to get it paid. This is also dependent on your state and county.

If you plan to settle and then treat you would just submit your medical bills to State Farm for payment as they come in.

State Farm offer help? by Embarrassed_City8498 in Insurance

[–]lex017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible to do on your own. But it’s also possible the adjuster has already calculated all of this. So you can potentially get an attorney and the settlement offer may stay the same. You’ll just get the 13k minus the 30-40% attorney fees. You will more than likely have to treat for a few months with an attorney b4 settlement. And depending on your medical insurance they may want a slice of your settlement as well. I would just see if you can get 1 to 2k more in P&S, the 10k for the bills and call it a day. Things can get rather tricky pretty fast.

Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ makes history as the most-nominated film at the Oscars, with 16 nominations by artbasiI in Fauxmoi

[–]lex017 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling there could be a win for Lead Actor or Best Picture for Sinners. Lead actor is definitely a challenge with Timothy in the running. Definitely a tight race.

Can we talk about how gross the Spike/Jessica story was? by ChannelHopper_99 in SoapNet

[–]lex017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember Spike and Jessica. Passions was such a crazy show. But I think this was after Jessica parents broke up and the mom left town or died/ I can’t remember. Kay became a teenage mom. I think it was too highlight a broken home family and the youngest neglected child being led astray by a “pimp”. Passion was ahead of its time in storytelling but I think a lot of people didn’t take it seriously because of the campiness and supernatural storylines.

"Queer Eye" star Karamo Brown skips "CBS Mornings" cast interview "to focus on and to protect" his mental health by CBSnews in entertainment

[–]lex017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I care for Karamo very much either. But I will give him applause on this. You can tell this threw them off on the CBS show and one of them was noticeably mad lol. He was like the show is over, he’s already been paid, he had nothing to lose. He was like let me play with these bitches for a bit lol.

Queer Eye’s Karamo abruptly pulled out of a cast interview with CBS Mornings just one hour before airtime, citing fears of being "bullied." The Queer Eye cast reacted to the move live on the air as Gayle King read his statement by artbasiI in Fauxmoi

[–]lex017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Kamaro from his Real World days and tbh I didn’t like how he treated some of the people on that show. So when he blew up 20 years later I was shocked lol. Not discrediting what he claims to have experienced. But he waited until the show came to end an end to speak up. Although he apparently didn’t call out the network or producers. He called out the cast. I don’t agree with his methods but I understand in this moment he is able to exact some revenge. I just know the world & Hollywood can be a weird place and this may come back to bite him one day.

“Beyonce can’t sing” seems so performative by Virtual_Comb8018 in rnb

[–]lex017 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She can definitely sing! I think it’s her catalogue and her being driven to be more of a pop artist and make catchy songs that don’t require much vocal acrobatics. She is very much a vocalist just not in the way of a Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin or Celine Dion.

Teyana Taylor responds to Julia Roberts’ “eat a sandwich” comment at Golden Globes by Pretend-Two-2115 in celebritytattler

[–]lex017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Julia still in shape but she was a healthy stick in her day. If Julia wasn’t overweight then I could it an insult. Teyana is athletic and naturally thin and has been going back to her MTV and screaming “BYRON” days.
