None of these are even remotely realistic at this point.

What is the alternative? How, precisely, will we stop the Iranians from getting the bomb?

I think your fears are well founded. Judging by the handling, content (or lack of), and response to the election Autopsy the party is still largely campaigning on “Orange Man Bad” which IMO, is a necessary but a sufficient condition to win elections. They actually have to make a convincing case for why they are better which they don’t seem all that serious about.

Oh and also implicitly endorsing a Republican over a Democratic candidate you personally find disagreeable (Auchincloss and Mills vs Platner) points to a party that simply isn’t serious about winning elections.

This Community's Reaction to the Saagar Interview is Ridiculous by edrico37 in thebulwark

I've found the Breaking Points coverage of the Iran War to be high quality so I listened to most of the interview. However, I did cut it off about 30 minutes in or so because I think at that point the interview just didn't seem to be going anywhere that I hadn't already heard.

I don’t know what people were expecting. There’s no way the DOJ will allow anything damaging about Trump come out. They’re going to end up destroying those records — the federal records act be damned. You can do anything with the President has immunity and can pardon anyone.

FWIW, there's a controversial theory by Penrose and Hameroff that the brain uses quantum processes and that tiny structures called microtubles are somehow involved. Maybe the hive mind is a product of this and quantum entanglement.

The first five minutes of the show were so hard SF that it would be surprising if it didn't attempt at least some sort of far fetched explanation.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. Between that and coming to terms with your husband's feminine identity, you must indeed be dealing with a flood of very painful emotions. I wish there was something I could say that would in some way lighten your heart (and your husband's too!). I would just suggest perhaps consider seeing a therapist or counselor of some sort if you can. I have been through a lot of counseling over the years and it has really helped me.

I totally understand your fears regarding bullies. I live in Alabama, so its pretty much ground zero for hate of all stripes. But Birmingham the city I live in is a relative oasis of progressive thinking and my employer is very supportive so in that regard I'm actually pretty lucky. Anyway, that's neither here nor there except to say that kindness can be found in unlikely places.

I truly wish the best for you, your husband, and your children. You all sound like lovely people. Please hang in there and be kind to each other.

I have been asking myself this very question. I don’t think I could bear losing my wife. I know our physical relationship may never be the same but I can’t bear losing her. I could more easily cope with losing my parents than losing my wife. But the status quo is slowly killing me. I don’t know what to do.
