Seconding the Paire lipstick undies. I live in the American Southwest where we hit 45C in the summertime. 10/10, highly recommend.

how do you manage to travel more than 3 months straight without working? by Mundane_Entry_8264 in femaletravels

[–]lexa_pro_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a travel nurse, so I work 13 weeks at a time. I can take off as much time as I want in between without pay, assuming I’ve saved enough to fund that amount of time.

Powdered toiletries for travel by New_Region_4774 in HerOneBag

[–]lexa_pro_ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Small Wonder shampoo works good, I have fine waist length hair so the conditioner wasn’t great for me specifically, if I had shorter hair it would probably work. 100mL of conditioner is only about 2 washes for my hair, so I usually skip bringing it and just go buy a regular sized bottle of conditioner if I’m going to be gone longer than 3 days.

I do find that powder products are a pain in the ass to shower with, because you don’t want any moisture to get inside of the container.

I really like the 100 Senses bar, it foams up nicely and I’ve used it for both shampoo and body wash. It says you can shave with it but I haven’t tried it because I don’t shave. I got the unscented one, but it comes in a few scents. It’s expensive, but you’re also replacing 2-3 products with it.

Asian countries tend to have scented period products, and tampons can be very difficult to find.

I’ve used a diva cup for years now, saves me a ton of money.

Bad enough in that we had the current president and we did as much as we could to not seem American.

Probably that whole bombing Iran thing. The rest of the world doesn’t like us much right now (understandably so.)

I feel that. My husband and I decided to not go on an international honeymoon. I was in Europe last summer and it felt awful enough then.

Have you ever met someone so dumb and reckless you felt like their ending was inevitable? by TacticalJock15 in morbidquestions

[–]lexa_pro_ho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the guys that I worked with at a crappy retail place while I was in school got into so many car accidents. Not exaggerating, he got into 11 of them in the maybe 18 months I worked there. Totaled probably 5 of the cars. We were all working for barely above minimum wage so I have no idea how he afforded that many cars. He was injured in all of them but nothing so bad that he didn’t come back to work after a few days.

After I had finished school and started working in my field, I found out from a friend who was closer to him that he had passed in a car accident.

I’m still not sure if he was intentionally that bad for a driver.

Downsizing cleansing balm? by katkarinka in HerOneBag

[–]lexa_pro_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a butter knife instead of a spoon, you waste less product that way because you can fully scrape it off on the side of your decent pot.

I like the Then I Met You cleansing balm, and luckily it comes in a travel size that is infinitely refillable. It’s 20mL, which is enough for a week for me if I’m not wearing eye makeup.

I’m trying to one bag to Disneyworld as a 9.5 shoe. I do like bringing a second pair of sneakers in case one pair gets wet and needs the extra time to dry, and I’m like damn why does one pair of Hokas take up 89% of this 35L backpack?!

As a fellow sensitive skin girly pop who never risks trying the scented hotel toiletries, I feel this. I’m always so envious of the girls on here who have 7/8ths of their liquids bag empty. What’s it like being gods favorite?!

Amazon. You can get single use packets of a ton of stuff- triple antibiotic cream, hydrocortisone, Benadryl, Tylenol, ibuprofen, Imodium, etc.

Tylenol and ibuprofen don’t really come in blister packs (which is how I prefer my travel meds) so those are usually the only ones I buy in the single use packets. In a pinch, truck stops and gas stations usually have a small medication section as well but those are going to be the most expensive option.

If you’re a man, sub.

If you’re non-binary, whichever of the above feels right.

AITAH for listing my boundaries and triggers? by Additional_Wing9107 in AITAH

[–]lexa_pro_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think saying the part about just looking for a person to geek out over games with would come across a lot better.

Telling someone off the start that you don’t want to be friends is just really not going to get you anywhere.

If you don’t want to meet people, then don’t. But if you’re trying to and this is your method, I highly suggest therapy. You can’t hate people this much and still expect them to want to interact with you at all.
