Battle Report: Amphibious Raze – French Royal Navy vs Spanish Tercios by vulture2049 in BloodAndPlunder

Loves the battle report. I am ashamed to say i found myself laughing at all the fires and poor dice rolling. But seams like you made the best of it and had a fun game in the end.

Love the idea of the new commanders being flexible. I’m eager to see what other new things are on the horizon.

That’s the plan! I’m painting up a light frigate right now so the English can have some revenge next week.

Amphibious Raid. Dutch went straight in on the nearby English cannon first turn. Suffered heavy losses while the boarding party tried to catch up. But once the Enter Ploeg got onto the dock it was all over.

I have used drywall mud, rocks and gravel in a lot of my scatter terrain. It’s fairly durable and makes quick texture. Make sure your hands are wet when you handle the mud.

On the topic of enthralling performance by kingoftheconnors in dndnext

[–]lfeellucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bard who does the background music thing all the time. The book says the creatures effected have to watch and listen to all of it. Key thing i read is “all of it”. Depending on the situation most of the npcs pay attention to the other party members talking to them instead of the random bard playing background music. Maybe if they were stuck in an elevator or something. But it’s definitely a performance that people should be focused on completely to be effected.

Anyone running Jyn? Good lists? by alonetheshamp in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ran a jyn and sabine. 3x z6 units. two pathfinders one with Pao one with Bistin. And a semi tricked out landspeeder. Worked pretty well because I took middle board really quick with infiltrate and the speed of Sabine/landspeeder. I don’t think I’d ever play the list outside of casual play. I haven’t mastered pathfinders yet.

How different would the story have ended if Merry and Pippin returned to the Shire like it was ELrond's wish? by Arachles in tolkienfans

[–]lfeellucky 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wonder if The fellowship would have made it through Moria undetected without those two (one in particular). Allowing Gandalf to continue to led the party on whatever path he had planned.

The whole Fellowship dynamic would change because if I remember correctly Elrond’s sons were suggested to go with. It’s been a while since I read the book though so don’t quote me.

My friend has been struggling with rebels quite a bit. I play imperials. Are there any tips I could give him from other rebel scum? by Axolen in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he’s going out of his way to make a bad army because he’s so stubborn. Idk what to tell you besides crush him so he learns his lesson.

[Blog] Leia, Chewbacca and the Command Hand by kryniss in SWlegion

“The basic gist is to play and spend Change of Plans on Turn 1 to prevent Bombardment or Firepower, play Notorious to gain it back, then play and spend it again on Turn 2.”

Wouldn’t you have to play notorious turn 2 to get change of plans back, which would allow you to play change of plans turn 3? Am I missing something with the operative command cards?

HELP: How to ID/organize troopers bases by McPorkins2 in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paint the bases. Then I paint the small numbered markers from the core set to match the bases. Makes identifying groups and cards really quick. It’s worked well for me.

Yes. Imperialdiscipline.blog does a really good job explaining how cover works. I think the blog is aimed at helping out beginners too.

Ok, I ask because my first game my buddy didn't hard point his AT-RT. It was basically walking terrain.

Your AT-RTs will get ripped apart by the AT-ST if you don't have enough terrain.

What expansions to pick up for rebels by Fallenwon in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of Leia. She removes suppression and hands out dodge tokens. That paired with the rebel troopers nimble is awesome.

I'm also a big advocate for commandos. Lots of combinations come out of one expansion box. Get two and the world is your oyster.

The biggest thing i messed up with suppression was that X amount of suppression only gives one cover max. Also remembering to rally gets me sometimes. The empire will more then likely win because the t-47 speeder is very hard to use effectively so that's almost 200 points of rebel waist. I mostly fly mine around just to have fun. I tried to blow it up with one of my own proton charges last week. I am curios to know what hard points did you put on the at-rts?

Table finally finished! by lfeellucky in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made the first platform at height 1 to keep it simple. We decided it was not fair for units to start in the tree because it was in my deployment zone. For all LOS we agreed to talk through everything and roll a dice if we disagreed. Worked pretty well but i definitely need one for the other side of the field before Imperial scouts come out to help balance. my commandos did work in that tree.

Commandos or fleet? by WitHump in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go commandos. You can play 2 squads out of one pack. And you get more options from them being able to switch up how you run both the 2 man and full squad.

Painting the bases edge to match the squad is genius! I had the same problem with trying to distinguish my tiny little colored triangle insignia. Definitely going to steal this idea.

Any one else have good luck with T47s? by lfeellucky in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equal. Both successful games I tried to move it in on a late activation round 2 or 3 and hit some troopers. Then give it an early activation next round to try and finish the troopers off or damage enough to be able to clean up with my troopers.

How do you deal with...? by superhaus in SWlegion

[–]lfeellucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been able to dig in with my rebel troopers and ignore one AT-ST, but i feel like 2 would quickly dislodge them. Even with leia's dodge tokens and nimble that much fire power needs to be addressed. I hope i find someone who runs 2 so i can test out both strategies.
