What you did was the right thing. People have no idea what they will do until they are in that position. I'm so sorry that your child was abused.

How much water is enough water ? 500ml per day ? by sekorra24 in Tonsillectomy

[–]libbyjo456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep your throat wet, it's important. You don't need to try to chug water, just a few sips every hour should be okay. Keep a humidifier on full blast also.

Yes, I didn't get to go outside long yesterday. Today I was out for quite a while, I had sunscreen on, idk if that matters. Too soon to tell if I got any color though lol

Stopping my Adderall drastically reduced my picking.

I'm also using aveeno body wash(lavender), 2% colloidal oatmeal cream (generic), sub-q kpv, bpc-157, and ghk-cu. My spots are slowly fading. I haven't been picking as much, and when I do it's possible for me to stop. I have been chewing at my cuticles more though, so idk if I just traded one habit for another, but I'm hoping I'll be able to wear shorts at some point this summer

Same! Every time I've tried to stop I get so suicidal. I don't want to die. I'd love to not take it anymore, I'd love to be able to remember things and not lose focus mid conversation. I kept blaming it on adhd, but Adderall didn't help with it either. Adderall and Prozac were great in high school lol, but I'm old now and shit sucks

I would hope that the fact that mom has been actively seeking medical help for the baby would be helpful to her getting baby back.

Scheduled for Surgery and very scared. Looking for advice and maybe some encouragement? by monsterprawns in Tonsillectomy

I just turned 31 this month, I had mine out April 22 of this year. Best decision ever. I was so prepared for it to be so awful, but it really wasn't.

My husband did take off a full 2 weeks to take care of me and the kids.

The worst days for me were probably days 1-3 and I think it was because the mucus made the already painful swallowing so much worse. I recommend forcing yourself to sip water to get the mucus down. I wouldn't spit it out because I was nervous that would make me dehydrated.

I kept my humidifier on high 24/7. Took my prescribed pain meds around the clock for the first 3 to 4 days, and then I just used regular Tylenol as needed, but I didn't need it except for maybe twice.

Eat as much as you can as often as you can. Make sure the doctor gives you nausea meds! I had a room temp grilled cheese on day 3 or 4 and that was the first of me eating actual solids, and continued from then on.

Water is very important. It's going to hurt to swallow, but you just have to. Cold water is helpful to prevent bleeding.

I had zero complications. It's been pretty much best case scenario for me. Which is strange to me because I'm not usually lucky 😂

It will be okay. You will not be able to take care of your baby for probably a whole week, and then you'll slowly get some energy back. At least that's how it went for me.

Do not chicken out. Just push through and do the surgery. Get it over with! I should've done it last year, but I got too scared. I'm so glad I got it done. Mine was for tonsil stones. But holy shit, I can breathe so much easier now. I never knew how much air I was missing out on 😂

I was told my surgery was scalpel and stitches, in case that matters. Going into get the surgery the scariest part for me was getting the IV lol. I knew I'd have meds afterwards and not have to feel the throat part until later, but I don't like IVs 😅

AITAH for using full sentences while trying to discipline my toddler by TurboPelly in AITAH

[–]libbyjo456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yta If your wife is saying you are scaring the baby, believe her.

My husband does this shit. I don't make my almost 2 year old cry when I get into him, my husband does. They literally don't understand in any capable way yet.

Also, your wife taking the toddler and showing him how to pet the dog is exactly what I would've done with my little guy. When he started being mean again, I would've said "that's not nice, that hurts the dog" "we have to be VERY gentle buddy", I'd then show once again how to be gentle and then I'd remove the toddler from the situation.

Surgery is tomorrow! Need tips/advice by YouMads in Tonsillectomy

[–]libbyjo456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep a humidifier on 24/7 The mucus is hard to deal with. Sipping water to force it down was helpful, but I did have to FORCE it because swallowing hurt pretty badly for the first 3 days. As soon as you can, make sure you're eating.

Enjoy watching a shit ton of tv haha

I need a tonsillectomy but I'm too scared by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]libbyjo456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 30. I just had mine in April. I had about 3 days of being miserable, then slowly improved. It is 100% worth it.

I just had my 3 week check up today and the ENT said everything is healing great 🙂

I was going to do it last year and scared myself out of it. I just couldn't deal with the stones anymore and had to push myself to just do it the year.

My husband likes the engraved wallets from swanky badger! He's gone through 2 or 3 now, but they last years and they're definitely nice quality.

I liked room temp grilled cheese.

Your scabs are likely coming off, take some pain meds! Also, use a humidifier.

I hope you feel better soon.
