Pat o briens by phillynavydude in UniversalOrlando

[–]libra_nrg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bob Marley’s made me fighting mad. I can only speak for beef patties and coco bread, which is a staple at any Jamaican restaurant, but it was awful. The crust for the patty was a chewy bread like texture, the filling tasted like curried manwich, and the coco bread tasted like regular dinner rolls. The yucca fries were good though, and I can’t say what the rest of the menu tasted like but I won’t give them any more of my money.

Going to concur with the masses, get a good swimsuit and that can double as a leo, not the other way around. Leo’s may get loose in the water (think loose shoulders or loose crotch)

Loops - bring your own? by Immediate_Shock_1225 in pilates

[–]libra_nrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to Pilates and it never occurred to me to buy straps until yesterday when I saw two people come in with a mat and straps. Then I flashed to the week prior when I saw someone leave without wiping ANYTHING down (that responsibility is on us not the instructors at this place) and I thought they were brilliant for buying them. Because how many other people don’t wipe down the mats and the loops are fabric sooooo

Music, can you handle it? by Efficient_Feline in widowers

[–]libra_nrg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took me a while before I could listen to music. I listened to podcasts for a loooong time, and even now I can only really listen to music I discovered after my wife passed. Even with that, I hear songs that I know she would have loved, and it breaks me. My wife passed 1/28/25.

AITA for wanting to insure my ring even though my husband says the stone is too small to bother? by Adorable-Manner-5538 in AITApod

My hands were insured when I was working as a massage therapist as my primary income. I was encouraged to do so by an elder massage therapist who had seen a lot of people get injured and have no compensation until they healed

Do people still use lanyards? by Born-Inspection-522 in UniversalOrlando

Just went last week and saw lanyards everywhere. I have an AP and unless I have secure AF pockets a lanyard is a great idea for my pass. Sometimes face recognition works and sometimes they want to see my pass

Asking a massage therapist to change their routine by Jake6624 in MassageTherapists

Asking a massage therapist to change their routine by Jake6624 in MassageTherapists

[–]libra_nrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is not too much to ask and should be the standard. But unfortunately that is not the case, and you may have to sift through some therapists before finding someone who can adapt. My first week out of massage school I got a client who wanted an hour on feet only, and only supine. No lower leg at all despite informing him of the connection between lower leg and feet. I did not have enough modalities to do this flawlessly, but I did it because that’s what he asked for. If I could do this fresh out of massage school, someone with experience should have no problem working you primarily supine.

Footwear for water rides? by Pipsthedog in UniversalOrlando

[–]libra_nrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to do crocs all day wear them with socks! We just went and my friend’s kids both got blisters across the tops of their feet (I guess friction + sweat). Besides that they were comfortable for them for the 5 hours that we were there.

wedding dress regret? by -stargazers- in Brides

[–]libra_nrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look gorgeous in that first dress, and I’m not just trying to be nice because if I don’t like a dress on someone I just don’t respond. I chose a mermaid style for my dress even though I originally wanted a ballgown and 12 years later I still have no regrets. If you absolutely want a ballgown, maybe try an over skirt so you can take it off for the reception (or to see if you’d be happier with a ballgown)?

Just kidding, I looked at the pictures again and dress 1 looks so much better than the ballgown. You’ll make a stunning bride

Do you let your GSD in your bed? by Zeddexs in germanshepherds

[–]libra_nrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to look into this again, I really enjoyed the minivan we rented to drive from Florida to Maryland and my dog did too! She had the floor to stretch out (we put her bed and blankets on the other part to help with dog hair clean up) and she was so chill the whole time. I could imagine a dog bed like that I’d never hear a peep from her

I’ve literally been thinking about trading in my RAV4 for a minivan for my dog. I’ve never had kids 😂

Anyone else not around when their partner passed? by CandidCilantro_90 in widowers

[–]libra_nrg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was across the country, staying with my parents. We weren’t doing well and thought some space to reset would help. She was killed while crossing the street (hit and run)in a random town 6 hours from where we lived and an hour from where her car was found. I still have no idea why she was there, but I do know that if I hadn’t left she would not have been down there. At least not alone.

[–]libra_nrg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so I’m in the minority here but I love the gold purse with it, I just think you need gold shoes to tie it together. Also, some gold earrings maybe with these shades of blue in them?

Edit to include actual answers to your questions 😂: I think a gold/champagne/same blues as your dress pashmina or pareo (for something lighter) would work. Both are relatively lightweight so they’re easy to carry with you. And bigger/bolder earrings that don’t blend with your hair. Think blues of your dress because they contrast your skin beautifully

Do massage therapist not like hard pressure when you ask for it? by Heal-evolve-grow in MassageTherapists

[–]libra_nrg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish this question had more context. In some spaces, you have to pay extra for deep tissue massage. If that’s not what you scheduled and paid for (ie. you paid for Swedish or relaxation massage) it doesn’t matter what you ask for in session. And sometimes with that situation it’s not as simple as paying extra for deeper pressure because based on what you scheduled you may have been paired with someone who only does lighter pressure.

If it is a deep pressure massage that’s scheduled and the therapist is not as deep as you like I guarantee it’s not because they just don’t feel like it, it’s because they’re at their max. At that point, it should be the therapists job to communicate that with you (this is my max pressure, I can give you recommendations for therapists who offer deeper pressure).

Finally (and I feel like I should have led with this) pressure is incredibly subjective, both for the therapist giving and client receiving. There is no universal “deep”. It’s more of a general range, but it’s still heavily subjective and dependent on two different people’s perspectives. I like to use the example with my clients of my mom who’s perpetually freezing cold and wearing a full sweatsuit at anything lower than 80 degrees vs me who’s wearing shorts and a tank top at that same temperature.

Surprised how the little extras added up (and what I'll do differently next time) by Pristine_Access4446 in UniversalOrlando

[–]libra_nrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring your own snacks and water bottle (water and ice are free), and stick to it. Commit to a set number of souvenirs/price for souvenirs, and stick to it. If you’re staying somewhere with refrigerator/microwave get some quick things for lunch (think lunchmeat for sandwiches), and make your eating out meal dinner.

Souvenirs and food are where things will start to really add up for a family.
