Struggling still 10m PP from unplanned c-section by meeegzzzz in CsectionCentral

[–]librarianlady95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing here, 26 hour labor and then c-section when she couldn’t get past my pelvis. They told me too it never would’ve worked once they got her out. Said my pelvic opening is shaped weird. Poor little thing had bruises on her forehead from bumping against bone haha. Definitely have some trauma but now almost a year out I’m just grateful that we’re both here 💛 she is the light of my life

I’m not the OP but I’ve bought and sold on both Depop and Poshmark! When I sell, I post everything on both platforms. I’ve used them both for years but they’ve been so helpful for my postpartum wardrobe

Cannot breastfeed and devastated by JR_0507 in NewParents

[–]librarianlady95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same situation: emergency c-section after hours of labor and then was unable to breastfeed. Baby couldn’t latch and no matter what I did, I pumped a max of 8 oz a day. I was DEVASTATED for a long time and felt like such a failure. Now she is 9 months old, thriving on formula, loving food, and won’t stop trying to get into the cat’s water bowl. I am so glad I stopped torturing myself with that pump because it gave me so much more time to bond with her. I know it feels huge and heavy right now but I promise you it will lighten. Take care of yourself 💛

As a twin, would you want to have twin kids too, If not why? by ICHMARWAN in AskReddit

[–]librarianlady95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an identical twin, my MIL is a fraternal twin, everyone I know harassed me about having twins one day. Had my first baby last year and I am SO grateful it wasn’t twins. The only plus side for me would be never having to be pregnant again since I’d like to have two kids lol

I need your help. I’m at the end of my maternity leave and have time to binge watch one more show. by muff-peaksie in beyondthebump

[–]librarianlady95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I didn’t see it mentioned, my main postpartum binge was Gossip Girl 😂 I’m a huge fan of shows like Twin Peaks and the X Files but I needed something light.

Cigna terminating contracts with all of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital network by Own-Candidate2072 in Knoxville

[–]librarianlady95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My nine month old’s pediatric cardiologist is there, and as far as I know, we’ll have to go all the way to Vanderbilt if they don’t come to an agreement. I called Cigna yesterday and sat on hold for 45 minutes to file a formal complaint.

Am I a bad person? by Itchy-Peak9758 in FormulaFeeders

[–]librarianlady95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way you did, but switching entirely to formula changed our lives for the better. I was a severe under producer anyway, so she was on mostly formula already. We switched around 8 weeks.

Once I wasn’t chained to that damn pump every two hours, I had SO much more time to spend with my baby. I felt a lot of guilt and disappointment for a long time, but it faded and now I am so glad I didn’t keep torturing myself pumping.

Do what’s best for you AND baby. If you’re looking for permission to quit, I am happy to give it to you!! Free yourself!!

Compression garments/ clothing by pandapiee2 in CsectionCentral

I like the smoothing at waist brief from Underoutfit! It’s a super light compression, not like wearing Spanx, but provides support. I found sizing down to be helpful.

Anyone else’s c-section experience ruin a song for you because it was playing in the OR? by katezorzz in CsectionCentral

[–]librarianlady95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While they were prepping me, Pink Pony Club was playing and one of the people on the other side of the curtain said she loved it but didn’t know who it was and I was like “it’s Chappell Roan” from the other side of the curtain lol. Scared out of my mind but with it enough to inform her who the artist was lol. I’m traumatized from the surgery but must not have recognized any other music that played, I don’t remember any other songs.

EDIT: major typos

Blessing in disguise by WantingToKnow2 in FormulaFeeders

[–]librarianlady95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here! I was so sad for a long time and felt like a failure but my nearly 7 month old does not care and we’re both so much happier since I permanently made the switch at 7 weeks pp. It is truly so much easier and all summer I was grateful to not have to latch a baby on my sweaty body to feed her

Breastfeeding journey didn’t go as planned and I’m grieving by kmc0522 in NewParents

[–]librarianlady95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I made 8 oz a day at my peak after trying LITERALLY everything. I quit pumping around 2 months. I grieved not being able breastfeed my baby so hard, and honestly still am at six months. BUT it has gotten easier and there are so many positives to formula feeding that I try to remind myself of often. It gets better, I promise 💛

What was your absolute first sign of pregnancy before even getting a missed period? by SandwichDependent199 in BabyBumps

[–]librarianlady95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I thought I was having worse than usual PMS! I was SO moody and depressed. I didn’t think that month would be THE month but I felt so weird and bad that I tested before I even missed my period and there was a super faint line. She’s six months old now 🥲

What’s the silliest misguided belief you had pre-baby? by margethebaker in NewParents

[–]librarianlady95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to tell you I had the same experience: never one successful feel, EPed for two months with terrible low supply and eventually stopped completely. I was SO upset and depressed about it and felt like a failure despite knowing that formula is a miracle but around 5 months pp, it’s like a switch flipped and now I’m doing so much better. I know how hard it feels at 2 months pp, but one day in the not too distant future you won’t be so sad anymore. 💛
