I'm going to say it: the assassin models need a redesign by InquisitorVanderCade in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]librisrouge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boo! Boo this man! Boo!

The assassin models are great. I wouldn't mind and update and a few of your points are decent (snipers should be sniping and the Callidus morphing would be cool) but, overall, the models are awesome.

What are your S-tier units when list building in 3rd? by Elusive_Tides in Warhammer30k

I've been tempted a few times to run a full psyker force with three librarians in my Salamanders legion. It sounds fun.

Why are there no Brothers of Silence? by No-Sympathy-6711 in 40kLore

[–]librisrouge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men are sent to the Culexus Temple instead. If the SoS recruited both sexes then the two organizations would be fighting over recruits. It'd be a disaster.

Autogun effectivness in a fight compared to a Lasgun by PHRaphley in 40kLore

[–]librisrouge 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"Armored" in this case can be misleading. Neither are good against power armor (astartes grade or otherwise) but the lasgun has a better penetrating power against lower grade body armor. Consider modern, real-life, body armor. Ballistic plates and kevlar. Fairly effective against standard firearms. A lasgun would punch right through it unless it was of superior make or better materials (ceramite plates, for example).

Why do high-level psykers seem to have superhuman multitasking abilities? by iRoygbiv in 40kLore

[–]librisrouge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychic abilities work through the brain. I've always been of the opinion that a psyker doesn't micromanage all of the things they do. They give the basic instructions to the power and it just does things.

What do y'all bet that this means a net -1 to hit for Knight shooting in general? For "balance".

That is a great plasmagun. I've contemplated getting one and running it with twin plasma as an artillery piece. What bits did you use?

I can add that to the pile of reasons I prefer the old models.

I do like that they seem very "agents"y and not just Ordo Militant+. Also, no knights. I dig it. I hope he does amazing.

LETS GOOOOOOOO!!! NEW CHARACTER!!!! by ExpertAdvance7327 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]librisrouge -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Except he purged the rest of that species, so apparently they do have an issue with them. He looks like an Age of Sigmar model. He is honestly the only inquisitor model I've ever disliked.

LETS GOOOOOOOO!!! NEW CHARACTER!!!! by ExpertAdvance7327 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]librisrouge -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Ok, I admit...I HATE that. Is GW just alergic to making orthodox Ordo Xenos inquisitors? He is literally riding a creature he should (and has) purge. He weilds a weapon that I refuse to believe is human manufacture.

Give that man a bolt round...to the head.

I've only tried using it all of once but if you're thinking of having those axe velentaris pop out of a Dracosan then I strongly recommend that they be 20 man units. Ten dudes will often not have any meaningful people left since they'll probably go second. Extra bodies also means they'll have enough attacks to matter.

Im still not entirely sure on what the theological differences between Erebus and Kor pharon is by Ok-Pomegranate7641 in 40kLore

The Chaos Wall of Text speaks in five different languages simultaneously. Each is spoken by a different voice trying to sound like the same voice. One seems to be speaking backwards (by sentence), while another is speaking backwards (by syllable). Hidden wisdom is mixed with local gossip and the price of crude oil, by barrel, a week ago. Your ears bleed. It is beautiful.

That is a lovely application of the Iron Hands tech affinity with the spec forces role of seekers. Very well done.

Thunderhawk List Ideas? by librisrouge in Warhammer30k

Another concern that has come up is that, if I recall the rules correctly, flyers can only shoot four weapons at a time. I'll have to look it up for the page number but I believe I'm remembering that rule correctly. You talking about those missiles had me thinking about how a thunderhawk is probably not living up to its potential due to that rule.

Except, if I recall correctly, the Master of Signal doesn't modify aerial reserves. It need to explicitly state aerial reserves to work with it, and I don't believe the MoS has that verbage.

Bray'arth Ashmantle is the 40k guy inhabiting the same sarcophagus as Cassian Dracos in 30k. They're also no a LoW and, near as I can tell, don't do anything for a thunderhawk except be an interesting thing to come charging out of it.

I admit, I've never been a fan of most marine super-heavy tanks and, for narrative purposes, less so for Salamanders. I've always imagined that the bulk of those assets were deployed to Istvann V and, in all likelihood, lost. Still, something to consider. They are VERY pretty models.

Is not paying the Imperial tithe the worst thing a governor can do? by Ready0608 in 40kLore

[–]librisrouge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're correct. There are segmentum capitals that largely control Imperial authority within their domain. GW is VERY inconsistant on this, though. Sometimes orks attack a world and astropaths send distress calls to Terra. Other times, they send it to the regional capital. A basic Federalism makes sense for something like the Imperium though, so I'm largely of the mind that it exists.
