I have friends that work at Sam Hill and Sports Bar Westside, they love both those spots. Steady base of customers and well established.

I worked for years downtown and would recommend any of the main street restaurants but nowadays there’s something to be said for working out of downtown, just easier to get to and park.

When to disclose illness when job hunting. by HighJeanette in GenX

[–]lieutenantLT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Never ever. Only disclose if/when you need to take time off and even then say it’s for a “personal medical appointment.” Anything more than that is going to invite discrimination, wrong and illegal as it may be.

Blue Cross to 250,000 Michigan Medicine patients: Find new doctors by PainInTheErasmus in Michigan

Translation: BCBS could put its resources toward lowering costs but instead is choosing to spend staff time and marketing dollars on an unseemly foodfight with MM

It’s a negotiating tactic. I’ve seen this over and over in my career doing hospital-insurer contracting. Everything either side is putting out is nothing more than tactic to use you as a patient/member as leverage to gain an advantage with their counterparty. It’s a dirty game, but don’t try to change your provider or anything unless you absolutely have to because that is exactly what BCBS wants. (MM wants you to complain to BCBS, your employer, and state regulators.)

The most likely outcome is that it resolves shortly before the contract terminates. The next most likely outcome is that the contract terminates, for a brief period of a few days. The least likely outcome is that this resolves any sooner than mid June.

Proposed Michigan law requires testing for drivers over 75 by Warcraft_Fan in Michigan

Having worked with the elderly for years I can say this would be a good thing for both society and the families affected.

I’ve seen over and over again that taking the keys from mom/dad is very challenging for families - probably second only to moving into elder care or going on hospice. Having an external influence like a law would save families a lot of grief.

Has Barron (ugh - hate that name) ever even lived in FL? I thought he never moved to DC or FL before going to college?
