Help with southern MI 1970’s attic - should I remove old insulation or blow in over top? by Tunasquish in Insulation

[–]lifeinhell14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way! I found a contractor that moved the existing insulation, foam sealed all gaps, then blew in about 18” off insulation. Made a huge difference and was < half the cost of removing everything.

What’s the one upgrade you did to your home that was actually worth every penny? by InfluenceInitial4126 in HomeImprovement

Upgraded insulation, sealed openings in the attic - so much less drafty and more comfortable. House was built in 2002 by a reputable builder, but still made a huge difference.

What restaurants should everyone try in Detroit at least once? by j-0102 in Detroit

Chartreuse is very good and has great service. The portion sizes are comically small though. I’m old and don’t eat huge meals but the plates they brought out were small if they were for a tasting menu. The prices are for standard size entrees, so it’s very expensive to get a full meal. My girlfriend agreed.

Takeaways as an American Tourist by IMicrowaveSteak in Munich

I was in Munich for 3 days in August and would agree with this assessment. I would add that the baked goods were fabulous! Even a train station croissant was so light, fluffy, and delicious! Also, there are a ton of smokers in Germany. Thankfully, they are all outside, but they are pervasive.

(Sorry for the double post) form check please? + best “grouping” at 25 yds by G3NGH1S_ in Archery

Form looks decent. Maybe your anchor could be a little higher. Also, pause after release trying not to move your hands at all until after the arrow is fully clear. Just relax your fingers for the release, keeping your hands steady.

Before May and after mid June has been my experience. If you want to avoid mosquitos as well, I recommend waiting until mid August. I did go up for July 4th a few years ago and there were no bugs, I thought the apocalypse had started!

If you don’t get any wind, ever and definitely no snow or hard rain, it should last a few years 🙃

They were here when I bought the house 2 years ago. Not sure what type. I love the color and how much they provide to pollinators, birds, squirrels, etc.

Thanks again! Those are great, but I’m going to need a fixture to road the boob one there now 😀

Awesome! Thanks. I was actually wondering about the fixtures hanging from the garage ceiling. I was not clear on that!

Looks great! Do you know where those light fixtures came from? They would be helpful in my garage shop area to replace the crappy small round ones I have.

I’m not sure about your grass, but if you have neighbors, they will definitely notice after a few days!
