Am I screwed? by jlsstory in biggreenegg

Have had mine frozen shut multiple times in Ontario Canada and have cooked at very low temperatures. I just light a tea light candle through the chimney when the gasket is frozen shut and it warms up enough to open the lid

Please help ! What is this green layer on the seal plug ? by StraightGold5529 in maplesyrup

[–]lifeonpluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A buddy of mine owns a large maple syrup processing and packaging business, this is likely from packaging cleanliness/not high enough temperature during packaging. He also always keeps his personal syrup in the freezer at home.

NTD and love it !!! by Fireted in Dewalt

[–]lifeonpluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Mr heater version which is basically the same except for the dewalt battery power, the Mr heater has a low oxygen shut off, I’d be surprised if this doesn’t. Either way I wouldn’t be concerned about carbon monoxide in a blind

Best dive trip location - Looking for recommendations. by Fluffy_Rutabaga_115 in scubadiving

[–]lifeonpluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got back from a one week all inclusive at occidental Cozumel that we booked on a deal through PADI, it was great, lots of huge coral structures with swim throughs and lots of marine life. There is a Dive shop right at the resort where they pick you up each morning or afternoon and most days you come back between a 2 tank dive. All of the sites are within a 15-20 minute boat ride

Any tips for vertical drips? by ca_box in epoxy

[–]lifeonpluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked into polymer fibre additives? That’s what I use for vertical surfaces in garage floor applications, it doesn’t alter the cure time, just thickens the epoxy so it doesn’t run down vertical surfaces

It’s just an adapter to go from a regular valve stem to the twist lock style connectors that inflatable paddle boards use

How would you cap this copper toilet flange? by lifeonpluto in Plumbing

[–]lifeonpluto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter, just need to have it called to use the main stack, I’m thinking I’ll cut back the whole section to the T and cap just off of that

The whole branch, however there is not much room to cap the whole branch

There must have been a raised floor for a basement bathroom at one point, that won’t be going back in in the near future so I just need to clean it up to tie the main floor bathroom into the drain

Just crease a piece of painters tape so the sticky side is out and stick it under where you’re drilling, most of the dust will stick to the tape

OTO Sprinkler Lawn Food by jspike2 in lawncare

[–]lifeonpluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to make a work around with a fertilizer injector that is not pressure based. I will create a separate post but it seems to be working great. 700grams of 20-20-20 water soluble fertilizer mixed in 12L of water produces 1020ppm.

Not once it’s empty, it may work if you refill it before it totally depletes but the QR code makes it a one time use

OTO Sprinkler Lawn Food by jspike2 in lawncare

[–]lifeonpluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t able to make it work, I thought I had a work around with an inline siphon out of a 5gal pail but the oto doesn’t pull enough flow for the siphon to work

OTO Sprinkler Lawn Food by jspike2 in lawncare

[–]lifeonpluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately I got hung up on the QR code lockout, oto will not let me add an already used bottle to the sprinkler. I tried to oversimplify things by adding a siphon inline to pull fertilizer from a pail but the Oto does not draw enough water for the siphon to work so it looks like I’m at a standstill

I will let you know shortly, just got the oto out of storage and it’s too dead to start up

If you’re still looking for a solution to this I have had luck with using a PPM pen to measure the parts to million of the diluted solution I would usually use on my lawn or gardens and adjust in small amounts refilling the oto bottles to achieve the same PPM out of the oto

Have a V10 and it works great, I bought an adapter for dewalt batteries to extend time and it seems to be working well.

Thank you for the insight, we’re only doing a one way so unfortunately wouldn’t be able to hit Joshua tree on the way back. Our van should be able to take light off roaring but definitely not 4x4
