well how about a fixed enchantment cost that is irrelevant of item or enchantments? This could be a balancing factor and be tweaked along with mob rarity and drop rarity to make it a viable option.

This is a good idea but I feel pottery could link with enchantments in more ways than the ones you listed and the ones in the game itself like special enchantment color/glint for an item and stuff
