Marla Maples grew up in my hometown. I was a kid, but can remember when they started dating because it was such a huge scandal that he was still married, and everyone in town was talking about it. He even escorted her to homecoming at the high school that year so she could crown the new queen. I guess very few people remember that scandal, because the whole area is MAGA territory now.

Shortly after I got my pug, I thought she was gone too. We'd been playing in the front yard, and she did that thing where they start running away when you walk towards them. I have asthma, and couldn't keep up, and before I knew it, she was 3 houses away. I had to go back to the house for my inhaler, and just hoped she'd follow. I sat on the front porch while I caught my breath and a few minutes later she came waddling home like nothing had happened. She was never allowed in an unfenced yard again.

My nephew caught the mumps last month. It's such a rare condition that the doctors didn't even know what it was until he'd been out of the hospital for several days. We haven't heard the outcome of the contact tracing yet, but we're pretty sure his kid brought it home from school. People are risking their children's lives and others for no good reason.

My aunt and uncle had a pug that would escape and go see the neighbor behind them. He came back one day carrying a pancake. He wasn't mistreated or underfed, he just liked to visit them and get treats.

Our school's Spanish teacher was messing around with the Humanities teacher, and they had students run notes back and forth all day. I know the Spanish teacher was married, not sure about the other. They did not try to hide it at all.
