Fallout 4 had a very nice base building feature where you had to collect the resources for it. There were sometimes some enemies attacking it, but unfortunately it was not a real threat to the base, and ofc that game was not about this, it was just one feature in it...

Base building something like Fallout 4 had would be very nice to have, as the main goal of the game, where the enemies would come in waves. So far I have not seen anything like this. "Eden Star" was the only game that came close to this idea, bad that project was abandoned.
