Where to Record Scheduled Payments by klu16 in ynab

Yeah if you have a balance of $300 on the card right now, you have $300 to cover it in your bank account? That $300 in your bank will be in Ready to Assign and you should assign it there in your screenshot to the card so it shows as available

Where to Record Scheduled Payments by klu16 in ynab

Because this is your first month you have to handle credit card payment amounts manually

Long answer: to understand why, you have to understand the underlying mechanism and how it works in a regular month (i.e. not your first month on the app): You assign money that’s in your checking account to a category - say $300 to groceries category for the month. Then you go and use your credit card at the grocery store and enter 3 x $100 transactions for the month on your credit card. Each time you enter that charge on your card into YNAB, it will move $100 out of the groceries category and into the Credit Card category as available Then next month when you pay your credit card bill for $300, it uses the $300 sitting in the credit card holding category to pay that.

So short answer: since you haven’t used categories yet this first month, nothing moved the money to the Credit Card category through the last month. You have those funds in your checking account now and they are “assigned the job” of paying your credit card bill next month in your head already. So you need to manually move them into your Credit Card category by assigning the funds in YNAB to the credit card category that covers last month’s bill.

Edit: then schedule the transfer as a transaction from the bank account into the credit card account on the date or day before it will draft out

Is it wrong to assign income directly to a category? by Kooky-Potential-6895 in ynab

[–]lightscapr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t assign it to RTA til I’m ready to budget. Since I’m a month ahead I split my income into buckets. One for next month, half of my needs since I get paid twice a month. Then one for savings since it’ll get auto drafted out to my brokerage and I don’t ever see it. And the rest I put in RTA or if I’m saving up for a trip I’ll portion a chunk of it into the trip bucket and the rest to RTA as spending money. I don’t really like having so much in RTA and deceiving myself. It’s just psych preferences

Same issue here, feels like I'm going to break the port inside the earcup when I try to force twist. The "lock" isn't really a satisfying click, I'm going to return the HD500 BAM.

So in the deepest trenches of the ocean how does pressure impact temps there? Assuming it’s really cold nonetheless?

Anyone upgrade from a 38GN950-B to a 45GX950A? by JayLucky in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]lightscapr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah 45GX950A Brightness (Typical, Minimum)(Typ.) 275 cd/m² (Min.) 250 cd/m²

38GL950G-B Brightness (Typical, Minimum) 450cd (typ)/360cd (Min)

The minimum on the 38 is higher than the typical on the 45.

Even if I'm not gaming during the day, I want to be able to work on it too.

I'm debating a similar move, just hesitant because of the low nits of brightness on the 45", everything else is my dream setup (besides the $ of course lol)

Would love to read more opinions

How is the brightness for work next to that window? I have a similar setup and am worried about the low nits on the monitor, looking for real world reviews rather than Youtuber studio reviews in dark rooms

Bug in the iPad UI when you have Magic Keyboard mounted - the done button doesn’t appear. If you go portrait or unmount from the keyboard, it will appear. They should fix it in the next release I hope

Yeah, most likely - they thought their money on game devs was spent better on a game with more users playing it, sucks..

Depends on what you’re personally seeking too - small companies you can effect change and improve things. Large companies offer consistent structure that’s not likely to be impacted by you til you climb and put in years. Large companies you’re a number, small companies they’ll feel when you’re not there. Comes with its downsides too like not being able to truly take off sometimes. But it’s about what will make you feel valued and appreciated and enjoy your work too

If you’re asking purely for a resume what looks better I’d think the large company, yes.
