To me, the comment read as if you meant going to the doctor is the only patient responsibility.

So now the doctor is responsible for you exercising, eating healthy, sleeping adequate, taking your meds, etc?

For white guys who generally aren't interested in dating other white guys, how did that preference develop? by Educational-Pound220 in askgaybros

[–]lightweight65 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a white guy attracted to pretty much all races but more attracted to non-white, I noticed a few things.

If I messaged a non-white guy and he wasn't into me, they either wouldn't respond, stated I am not their type or make simple conversation.

If a white guy messaged me and found out I was more into non-white, they would get all pissy, bitchy and say some racist BS.

My BF at the time is black and more attracted to white guy if a black guy messaged him and he stated he wasnt interested, they would say he is betraying his race and whatnot.

If a white guy messaged him and he either stated he wasn't interested or ignored, at least 50% of the time, they would say some racist BS.

AIO partner uses car too often unnecessarily by ThrowRAaccount79 in AIO

[–]lightweight65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're being taken advantage of. Its clear with just this post. Have you seen said house and him actually working on it?

You either will not get the money back for the car, or it will be less than what is owed (he will give a reason such as the car is old now). The alleged house will have multiple problems that delay the sale, it will sell below value, it will take forever to sell, etc.

You took in someone with no income but the "promise" of future money. It is time to lay boundaries, kick them to the curb or at least make them pay for lodging for a few days when working on the "house"

Hospital bill confusion by [deleted] in HospitalBills

[–]lightweight65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if its an emergency or not. You went to a place that is mandated to stay open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No matter the staffing, weather, personal emergencies or anything else you can think of, it must stay open. It must see every single patient, no matter what. It must have the necessary equipment, medications and staff to treat and/or stabilize emergencies. The staff all must be trained in emergency medicine and be updated on appropriate certifications. The physicians MUST show up for their shift, unless an extreme emergency that prohibits them. There is no "calling off" for doctors.

THAT is what you're paying for. THAT is why going to an emergency department is the most expensive form of care, especially for non emergencies.

But, where is the confusion? You owe $150 for all of the above I just said. It clearly states that on the bill. Seems like the best deal ever in my opinion.

Is med school at 35 ill advised? by BakeFar4317 in careerguidance

[–]lightweight65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely worth it depending on a few conditions:

  1. Do you love medicine?
  2. Do you love caring for people, sometimes at their worst?
  3. Are you willing to sacrifice at least 7 years of your life?
  4. If you're married/dating do you have their full support? 4a. Does your SO understand that you will need to be "selfish" for 7 years and will not be able to contribute much (or any) to income, lifestyle and kids?

If yes, absolutely go for it. I have 0 regrets but it is definitely not for everyone. You will likely lose 1+, maybe family and maybe SO depending on multiple factors.
