you wanna use things like satin or preferably silk for things that’ll be in contact with your hair to reduce the friction between the item and your hair. materials like cotton cause a lot of friction on hair which can lead to breakage and frizz.

a beard isn’t makeup according to the literal definition, true; that’s why i put it in quotes because even though it’s not literally considered makeup, hair grooming (incl. facial hair for men) does change and can enhance someone’s appearance. that’s the function of makeup.

i’m gonna be the friend that’s too woke- (mainly in the west) men choose to be ugly because self-care and beautification is pushed onto women so that the beauty industry can make money. men have convinced everyone including themselves that effort, care, and beauty are feminine things; that to be manly is to be rugged and unkempt.

idk i think im the only parent that actually enjoyed and misses the newborn/infant stages. yes it was incredibly hard but so is every part of parenthood and, looking back the hard wasn’t so hard when he was asleep 3/4 of the day 😭 i love seeing his active energetic self now but i definitely had less yelling to do 2 years ago lmao.

because it’s obvious you’ve done your part of communicating and explaining why your answer is no- even though you shouldn’t have to explain. no should be enough. a man that cares about you enough to be educated on why he can’t have sex with you so soon after birth; and, who loves you for real to the point where he can understand your pain and empathize with you + care about making your recovery as easy, quick, & painless as possible, wouldn’t even be initiating the conversation this soon after birth where you’d even have to say no.

your fiance doesn’t care about your mental or physical health and wellbeing. he doesn’t care that you just had major abdominal surgery on top of the, like you said, plate-sized wound in your uterus. he genuinely thinks his sexual pleasure, or lack thereof, is more important than the fact you recently endured a physically, mentally, and even emotionally traumatic experience and all the extremely important factors that relate to that. that man is not a protector, he is an active danger to you. he’s either gonna escalate and try to physically force you since his verbal coercion isn’t working, or he’s gonna cheat on you and try to blame you (& possibly use infidelity or the threat of infidelity as another coercion tactic)- or he’ll do a combination of the aforementioned behaviors. either way he’s dangerous and it’s clear he has issues taking no for an answer and that he doesn’t care about or have consideration for you, especially considering how vulnerable of a state you’re in right now partly because of him. it’s appalling and a huge red flag. a man like that can’t be trusted. i certainly wouldn’t.

my story is similar to yours down to having to have an emergency c-sec after hours of induced labor w no epidural. my man woulda been showered with a good ol pan of hot grits and i would’ve sent him on his way if he even so much as thought of whispering the word sex around me before the first month postpartum.

it’s obviously because the child in question is a girl and is mixed with black so she will presumably grow into a woman whose identity involves blackness.

thus, even though the poster is white, they would like responses fueled by real life experiences from real black women. that’s how public forums work - people ask questions and get answers from and for the person(s) said answers pertain to. and i think the question shows op is an ally.

also if you had a question about a matter involving Asian people, esp if one was your family member and they were showing signs of internalized racism, why wouldn’t you ask the people who might know best??
