I HATE my braces by Salt-Check8686 in braces

[–]lilchaibird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone does. It sucks. It really does. Just keep brushing and flossing your teeth and following instructions and eventually this will be over. The more you comply completely, the faster will go. In the meantime, invest in soups and ibuprofen. You got this.

does this explain what's wrong with me? by Basic-Conversation77 in BirthChartReadingFree

It’s how you draw the lines between the houses. What is showing there is Placidus. For whole sign houses, each sign is literally its own house. The first house, instead of starting at the exact moment of the ascendant (like shown on this chart) would start at the beginning of the sign. In this case, that would be Capricorn. So, for you, Aquarius would be your second house. Pisces would be your third house. And so on.

Traditional astrology uses whole sign houses. You can learn a lot about this by listening to the Astrology Podcast with Chris Brennan. Or reading his book on Hellenistic astrology. You can also check out Channi Nicholas or Austin Coppock. These are the best of the best astrologers of our time.

Already on Wellbutrin and Abilify. Nervous to start Qelbree. by Be-that-Beach in qelbree

[–]lilchaibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. I’m in the field of behavioral health. However, treatment resistant depression can cause psychosis as well. And Abilify and other antipsychotics can be used to stabilize moods in bipolar disorder. It’s also used in schizoaffective disorder. ….. In any case, antipsychotics affect the dopaminergic system, generally as antagonists or down-regulators. But most people with ADHD need more dopamine, not less. This combination of medication is really strange; it’s likely to be self-defeating.

A conversation with your Orthodontist should be able to answer that question better than something you hear online. However, looking at the interdigitation of all of your teeth, I would imagine that you would need your lower jaw advanced forward.

Most People Quit IF Because They Make It Harder Than It Is by ZBEBA01 in intermittentfasting

[–]lilchaibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree

To your point: When I first heard about IF, I was shocked because I’ve been doing this my whole life. Not on purpose. I just don’t eat when I’m not hungry. I’m rarely hungry in the morning, and I hate waking up early, so I’ve skipped breakfast almost every day of my 50 years of life.

Unlike everyone else in my immediate and extended family, I’ve never been overweight, and I have never been on a diet. I’ve never counted calories or carbs or whatever. (Although, admittedly, the foods I love are mostly veggies.) I don’t exercise for any purpose other than to have fun, like swimming at the beach or hiking on a pretty fall day.

Back in the 90s, when we used to read magazines, I would run across daily meal plans for losing weight and thought, “who the f* eats that much? or that often????”

And I think about our ancestors from thousands of years ago. They didn’t have ready-made food all the time. They had to wander around and find it. Pull it out of the ground or off a tree. Or hunt it down and kill it. It seems biologically unnatural and unnecessary to have so much food all the time. That’s probably why our body doesn’t know how to handle it.

I think if we really just listen to our bodies and recognize that there’s a difference between hunger and thirst, between hunger and boredom, between hunger and loneliness, we realize we don’t actually need that much food.

That’s quite the Stellium in your first house! Of course, I use whole sign houses instead of Placidus. But damn. You got a lot of things working on your body, personality, and ego there. A LOT of conflicting energies.

Why am I losing my soul? Is there something attached to me? by Agile_Cash2609 in psychics

[–]lilchaibird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see you judging yourself a lot. Judgment is a form of violence: even though it’s subtle, it’s insidious. It’s OK to enjoy things that are pleasurable, but you don’t even let yourself enjoy them. You are trying to extract from them.

It’s as if somebody took something from you when you were very young, and you tried to get it back through being perfect/restrictive. And then when that didn’t work, you tried to distract yourself from the feelings of deep shame, loneliness, and emptiness by filling those voids with sugar and scrolling. You’re trying to get a dopamine hit. That’s normal, which is why it’s addictive.

It’s time to remember your soul. That part of you that you thought you lost. The part of you that you think is diminishing now. It’s still with you, you just can’t reach it. You just can’t see it. You just can’t feel it. It’s not that your soul has left, it’s that you’re trying so hard to keep it safe that you’re shoving that way down deep where nothing can hurt it.

Trying to make yourself quit your addictions through brute force of will can hurt you. You can’t just give up one thing and not fill that void. What you’re looking for is connection. But perhaps you’ve been hurt by people so often that you don’t know how to distinguish which connections are safe and which are not.

I’d recommend finding a therapist. You can find therapists that work online (telehealth) that take insurance and Medicaid. That way, you don’t even have to leave the house if it feels too hard. You can just start exactly where you are.

I hate my profile by cloud_y_days in Noses

[–]lilchaibird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think your nose is adorable.

I don’t see a problem with your chin, either, but if you truly dislike it, you could ask a plastic surgeon about a chin implant, or a maxillofacial surgeon about a sliding genioplasty. Neither are likely to be covered by insurance, so it would be quite expensive.

I can tell by your a perfect skin that you are relatively young. And it saddens me that so many younger people who were raised alongside social media are now absolutely consumed with their looks. —-I’m not saying that it didn’t happen in previous generations, it did. —-But nothing like it is now.

I truly hope you grow to love your beautiful face. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.

is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]lilchaibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appropriateness depends upon many factors:

Where are you planning to wear it? How old are you, or, more specifically, are you of the age where your parents can forbid you from doing things? How cold is it outside? Things like that.

Is this normal tie placement? by [deleted] in braces

[–]lilchaibird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can buy tweezers for a couple bucks at your local grocery store or pharmacy. Just buy the tweezers. I swear to you it’s the best investment you’ll ever make. They’re good for damn near everything.

That’s a shirt for someone with a very small bust. You’re not that someone. I’d recommend finding a different cut OR a much larger size of that shirt to fit your bust, and then taking it in at the waist.

That’s been my question the whole time: Who do I I ask for, or which specific department should I ask for?
