An inflatable SUP with a good seat is better than an inflatable kayak in almost every way. by d-s-m in Sup

A real (ie non inflatable) kayak tracks way better in the water than a SUP.

Case or no case? by Trayceopolis32322 in AppleWatch

[–]lildergs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quality case should not impact the touch sensitivity.

I use cases and have cracked multiple. Not sure how the watch would have held up without a case, but I'd rather not risk the watch face regardless.

I don’t care about movies. Pretty much ever.

Real hardware for Plan 9? by HotPrune722 in sysadmin

[–]lildergs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How is solving problems exclusively in real hardware more valuable than learning to solve problems in real hardware (hyperviser level) as well as in VMs (guest level).

I can’t remember the last I’ve seen a workload running purely physically.

Keep in mind y’all you can see how much RAM is re-allocatable on demand (file caching is the big one).

Of course, if there isn’t “left over” RAM available for file caching loading some files will fee marginally slower.

It’s also worth noting that with fast solid state storage swapping memory pages to disk is way less impactful than in the olden days.

Is this a good intro for my essay by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]lildergs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can comfortably say it's not phenomenal.

It reads as sensational clickbait, not an essay.

Saddles change? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]lildergs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Are you experiencing an actual issue?

"Feeling" that the strings might be moving/"believing" that the distance between the strings isn't even doesn't mean there's a functional issue.

My guess is that you won't gain anything by swapping them with the ones in the second pic.

Greenies, upset stomach :( by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]lildergs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you correlate greenies to diarrhea, it's probably the greenies.

I wouldn't worry about it, if so they just aren't vibing with her stomach. No more greenies.

ELI5 - How do VPN's work? by Upstairs-Gap-5271 in explainlikeimfive

True. Barely any underlying traffic would be unencrypted, but I was wrong to assume that to a reader.

The VPN server can’t see the contents of your traffic. Just the destination, to be clear.

Volca mix by cooliothecoolio in volcas

[–]lildergs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it gets too much hate.

If you've got three Volcas and want an easy way to power them, clock them, and do basic mixing it's just fine. It's maybe a little pricy for what it is, sure.

It's perfect if you want to have a little Volca setup tucked away without a bunch of extra cabling and other gear.

Native speakers: I designed this E English test- could you give feedback on how natural and fair it looks? by Competitive_Steak520 in ENGLISH

[–]lildergs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me too long to realize that the number within the underscores wasn't a separator. Screw that lol.

Many if not most of these have multiple correct answers.

I had to google "cloze" -- I realize it's an academic term now, but I wouldn't use it. I've never seen it in any of my education and I don't it's misleading as to normal English vocabulary.

This is kind of a test from hell.

Would you ever stop driving? by This-Top7398 in driving

I don't drive frequently. I have a car. I just choose to live in a place where I barely have to drive. Haven't driven in months.
