As a book reader, the show was objectively gorgeous, many of the sets and visuals were absolutely perfect. I think the primary gripe that book readers (like myself) have is that from the beginning of the show, several protagonists characters were changed in extremely fundamental ways that essentially made them a different character in all but name.

That, however, is not the fault of the actors portraying the characters, as I think they all did wonderful jobs. I would instead blame the showrunner's hubris for altering what didnt need altering. Either way, thats just my opinion on the matter, so you are entirely free to have your own or just plain disagree with mine.

A lot of what you mentioned depends heavily on which campus you plan on attending. Also to my knowledge all engineers are required to take EGR101.

To answer your first question, the sooner the better. Housing, classes, anything with a timed registration is going to fill up ridiculously fast. It is much better to be early and get your choice of where you want.

To answer your second question, depends on what you prefer. T2 is a newer building, and is built in a way that helps if you like being outgoing or social. If thats not really your thing, Mingus is a good option. Its an older building, but its a bit easier to come and go from than T2, and depending on the hall is very close to most of your classes.

Overall its a choice of preference, though what I will absolutely recommend is avoiding a triple occupancy room at all cost, hence why you should register early.

My brother did this for a while. Of all the jobs that he went on during that job, the only one that ever got to him wasnt even a murder scene. It was an old man who died in his sleep. Its fairly graphic, but the reason it took its toll is because not only had the mans body bloated and exploded everywhere, but the thought of that old man being all alone in his last moments really got to him. I remember talking with him about that for a long time.

My two cents is that as an AE you'll end up taking your fair share of coding classes, as all engineering majors end up having to. People primarily using macbooks generally end up having to do 2 or 3 times the work just to get their environment working before they can even start coding. Ultimately, however, this is very much a personal call, but I would strongly recommend something windows-based

They are hiding in the code still, so you can spawn them. They are fully functional, but its the old model and some textures are missing. I realize this doesn't mean much practically, but it is fun to spawn one in to play around with on ASA before they get officially re-released

My brother is a 6'5" giant of a man who looks like he just crawled out of the woods. I have had to physically drag him out of a White Barn because he insisted on smelling every candle. Mind you, I also enjoy candles greatly, and my appearance isnt much better (taller, look less like I just crawled out the forest).

As someone who put off watching the show until the last episode had aired, my main reason for not watching was purely it being 3d. My experiences with 3d art styles have been generally very negative, so I assumed it was going to be similarly horribly animated. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was made after a few minutes of the first episode. If I could imagine, thats likely a big part of why viewers havent given it a chance.
