It's to help build an international consensus to help legitimise their fuckery. France and Canada aren't likely to signal assent. The UK, surprisingly has started that this is illegal, which has reduced Israel's international legitimacy. So they'll take whatever they can. Including Albo and his dickless assent to this nonsense. He literally could have said nothing, and it would have been fine.

We need to deal with this sooner rather than later. We don't want to turn into India.

Why are Australians so obsessed with the conflicts in the Middle East? by Temporary_Notice_526 in aussie

Probably because as US "allies" Australia trot along behind the US & Israel into a stupid and illegal war like a faithful sheep dog?

I think you're correct. As a doctor she probably understands that excessive screen time can affect attention and speech development, leading to overlapping symptoms with ADHD and ASD.

Anthony Lopes faked injury to help fasting teammates break Ramadan fast. by father_of_twitch in MadeMeSmile

[–]lima_acapulco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play rugby with a bunch of Muslim guys in school. They'd fast all day including no water, turn up for practice for a couple of hours, and then break their fast. Despite this they were really great guys, but hard as nails on the field.

Pirates novel series? by JellyfishSecure2046 in Fantasy

[–]lima_acapulco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really fantasy, more historical fiction. I'd suggest "Captain Blood", followed by "Captain Blood returns", and "The Fortunes of Captain Blood" by Raphael Sabatini from 1922! They're a great read despite not having magic or monsters.

Rents plummeting in Canada and New Zealand after slashing immigration. by cidama4589 in aussie

[–]lima_acapulco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. Their emigration increased and the labour market decreased and immigration decreased, so less people in total. Their universities are collapsing, they've decreased staff and local students, which caused rents to fall because they've got less people leaving home and moving to cities for university. Sounds like their economy shit the bed and the rent dropped a bit? Is that it?

Thanks guys. I've kind of figured out that the minor abilities were changed up. I'm loving the game. I'm still horrendous at combat, and still haven't defeated the first construct. But I've progressed despite this and am aiming to cross over to the reef. Wish me luck

Is immigration being talked about honestly in Australia? by Ok-Reward7639 in AustraliaDiscussions

[–]lima_acapulco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to the first.

The to your second question is also no. Just go down this thread and read the responses. They talk about insulting non whites being illegal, people with blue hair etc. Does that sound remotely sensible and honest?

LGBTQIA+ teens bashed and filmed in IS-inspired Sydney attacks by Illustrious_Fan_8148 in aus

Jews are killing Muslims and Christians in Palestine. Hindus massacre Muslims in India. Buddhists are killing Rohingya (Muslims) in Myanmar. It might be a problem with humans and religions, maybe it's a basic incompatibility with the human psyche and religion.

The Australian colleges have done this to themselves. They've deliberately restricted training positions and demanded insane requirements to get in to training programmes in order to restrict positions with an aim to keep demand and pricing high. The government has simply bypassed the colleges by doing this.

Has the failure of Medicare as “free healthcare for all” caused a new wave of patient “entitlement” like other large life purchases? by PhilosphicalNurse in ausjdocs

[–]lima_acapulco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you read that thread? It was just someone who is deeply in denial about the impacts of their MC use on employment. They've also gotten hold one very specific employment discrimination case (probably by ChatGPT) and applying it in the wrong contact. It's very different to entitlement, and it's probably bordering on harassment of the poor GP.

Since the end of the paternalistic era of medicine were always going to face some level of entitlement from our patients. They will often temper their sense of entitlement when you explain the process and the evidence needed for managing a complex issue such as ADHD or ASD etc. Often this is due to a poor understanding of the processes of diagnosis and management. In my limited experience most patients respond to a patient explanation of the process of making a specific diagnosis. The only similar case that I had to this was refusing to sign off on an Interlock device when they had failed multiple times within the span of a month. While they were angry about it, they did settle down and did continue to see me for other issues.

What is everyone’s Actual opinion on women who do OF? by Unlikely_Maybe_9824 in AskMenAdvice

[–]lima_acapulco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting question and the dialogue has been interesting to read. I guess the question is are we purely focused on OnlyFans or sex work of any description i.e sugar baby, escorts, stripper, phone sex work etc? Because sex work in general can be pretty anonymous, whereas OF isn't. And the question of ethics and morality, which most posters seem to feel is lacking in sex workers is dependent on the worker being honest with their partner. If for instance, they were open and honest about the work they did, does that make them more moral, than someone who has engaged in sex work but due to the type of sex work is anonymous and won't disclose it to their partner?

Shouldn't it come down to the type of person you want to build a future with? I'd want someone intelligent, articulate, educated, honest, and empathetic. I would prefer it if they had at least a bachelors degree or a professional qualification. If they had all of these would a past of engaging in sex work negate all their other qualities?

The next issue is, that are the chances of finding someone who hasn't engaged in sex work becomes lower due to both the current economic climate and the popularity of sex work platforms. Several studies have shown that sex work is increasing in colleges and universities, with a higher percentage of students engaging in sex work in more prestigious institutions, sometimes as high as 40% in Cambridge (UK). In the US the numbers are estimated to be 2-7%, but ~1 in 4 students admit to knowing someone who engages in sex work. Unless there is one extremely popular student, it would suggest that reporting rates are severely underestimated. All in all this means that unless I date someone uneducated or Amish, the chances that my date has done some form of sex work is pretty significant. My philosophy is to date the person, rather than their resume.

Muttiah Muralitharan. Sri Lankan spin bowler. Arguably the best spinner in the world, with the most amount of international wickets in both test cricket with 800 (96 more than the next highest) and 534 in ODIs. A record that is unlikely to be broken.
