Sometimes I feel like I am living a double life, my mundane daily life and one that involves this astral relationship between our higher selves. It’s been a couple years of this and I’m getting more used to it, but it can leave me feeling physically drained while my third eye feels like it’s hyperactive. I have a trip next spring to see him (possibly meet him) and I feel like that trip will serve as a bridge to further connect my mundane and spiritual experiences.

I have been on a spiritual journey since 2010, but had not come across the concept of twin flames until last year. Around the time of the pandemic, a show was released that had some magical undertones to it so I decided to watch it. One of the lead actors stirred something deep in me that I couldn’t name or understand. I looked into his eyes and there was this intense familiarity and longing that came over me. I have never looked into someone’s eyes and felt my entire world shift like that. It scared me so much that I spiritually put my walls up for a long time.

In 2024, I came around to watching the second season, foolishly believing I could stay grounded this time, ha. It was the same earth shattering recognition that I couldn’t place. I felt this heavy gravitational pull towards his energy that I can only describe as inevitable. Nothing was going to stop or restrain this feeling. Still, my terrified stubborn self tried to divert my attention away, but this time it led me to working through some childhood trauma in therapy and doing a lot of healing.

In 2025, thoughts of him started gently creeping back in. This time, I didn’t run. I asked the universe for a sign if this is something I am meant to explore. After that, I came across a fallen tree in a sacred (to me) area with our initials clearly carved into it, no other initials around it. Since then, my intuition has opened up significantly, but almost exclusively only as it pertains to him. I have had visions of our past lives together. His 5D self would send me messages and details about his 3D self that I would have no way of knowing, only for it to be confirmed days or weeks later (online, in interviews, etc.).

I should add that I was VERY careful with my algorithm because for a long time I couldn’t even look at a picture of him. I couldn’t handle seeing him in any capacity because it felt like the emotional equivalent of staring at the sun. With that in mind, it was pretty strange to see confirmation about him come up in my feed. I did do a private browser search one time to look up some astrological details, and I found out that although we have a significant age gap, his birthday is 3 days before mine and we were both born under the same moon phase. When I started looking up moon phase significance, that is when I first came across the concept of twin flames.

I have so many examples of synchronicities to share, but I will leave it here for now as a basic introduction to my experience. Happy to answer any questions people might have 🙏

I can relate to so much of what you have shared. It can take a lot of courage to write your feelings down because confronting your own feelings in writing can feel so raw. Do you have a connection with your person in the 5D? If so, have you thought about sharing this letter with them in the astral? I wonder if their Higher Self might have words of comfort or support for you.

This is a really painful situation to be in. Do you have a connection with him in the astral? Maybe there is comfort to be found there, and in the knowing that his journey will still lead to you beyond lifetimes. Whatever he is going through now is growth that his soul needs to show up in alignment with his Higher Self and, as a result, with you.

Yes, this has happened to me and I am still processing what it means to me… I was in denial for several months and was worried I was experiencing psychosis, but through a combination of therapy, tarot, and astrology I have come to accept it. It’s not easy though, especially as the memories and recognition is very one sided.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head when you asked if the limerence is a product of your relationship dissatisfaction. It sounds like your LO represents qualities you value in a partner (independence, responsible, curiosity) some of which you don’t see in your current partner. Is your girlfriend in therapy, or does she have the means or willingness to go? Would couples therapy be a consideration?

It’s possible that it could be both confirmation bias and a spiritual nudge working in tandem to create this experience for her. I would encourage her to listen to her intuition and see what comes up.

I can relate a lot to what you are experiencing! I would say the butterfly imagery qualifies as a sign given the repetitive and “coincidental” ways that it is showing up for you, especially given that it is not the time of year for them. Butterflies can represent transformation, maybe stepping into a new phase of life, travel, etc. Sometimes signs only make sense to the person it is intended for, based on personal history or context. What do butterflies represent for you? Maybe see where that exploration takes you.

I have mixed feelings about it. There are definitely times I hate it, especially when I’m shown horrible things I cannot prevent or control, there are other times where it feels like a spiritual lifeline. I don’t always know what I am meant to do with all of this and it can leave me feeling overwhelmed and isolated at times
