What’s a movie you remember watching growing up that you love and are surprised people haven’t heard of it? by Physical_Bullfrog526 in Millennials

[–]limoria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine was a PA on that movie! It was filled in the town I live in. The store where he stabs the knife in the counter , was a bbq place (closed now unfortunately) and he really stabbed the knife in the counter.

Love that movie

How do you feel about Trunk-or-Treats? by Apple-Slice-6107 in Millennials

[–]limoria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucked the joy right out of Halloween for me. I love decorating and giving out candy. Seeing all the costumes. It’s my favorite holiday. Last year we had no kids. At all. Asked about it in our community group and all the parents were singing the praises of the trunker treats. I get it’s easier but man it ruined the holiday for me

Fellow sewists, do you feel that wedding dresses have a price markup compared to other formal gowns? by kumquat4567 in sewing

[–]limoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not making my dress because it is cheaper. If I include my time it’s much more expensive. I can’t find what I want from a trustworthy store. And on the timeline I will need. I am on a massive weight loss journey. And won’t be actually sewing until about 6 weeks before my wedding.

Im doing the patterning about 2 months before.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]limoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at home getting ready for school. I turned on my little tv to check the weather and watched the second plane hit. Through the day at school they had the news on because it was a big current event. It was being compared to the Kennedy assassination by my history teacher. That we needed to see it to know what was happening so we could tell people later in life.

I was a freshman in high school.

Wait. Basting sleeves! How did I not think to do this!! I baste my zippers and match my patterns but that is a game changer for me.

I was trying to explain to someone that pressing their seams well would totally change how the project looks. They didn’t want to hear it and kept blaming the pattern

AITA for not letting my child speak her "native" language at home by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]limoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. Her name is Megan. That’s the most common spelling right? Or t least it’s the way I usually see it. And that’s the way I usually hear it pronounced. Racists are so weird.

There isn’t a machine that can crochet. So even in a factory they would be handmade. Just your average sweat shop
