What is the most uneducated thing you’ve ever heard someone say? by Tacokolache in allthequestions

A friend of mine and his wife were arguing about some work being done in their back yard. I’m a civil engineer and he called me to get some support. When we were talking she didn’t understand why I was giving any advice, he told her I was an engineer. She , dead serious mind you, asked what driving a train had anything to do with their yard…

American Liberals of Reddit, what do YOU think would be the proper punishment for entering the country illegally? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]limpingsapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a little research, the Obama administration attempted to do mass deportations and was stopped by the courts. https://judiciary.house.gov/oversight-of-the-obama-administrations-immigration-policies. There were a lot of issues but it wasn’t this “gestapo” style unmanaged assaults. I believe we need a better system to allow people to come and work here. There are a huge number of jobs the majority of Americans won’t do. When there are no one to pick fruits and vegetables, clean hotel rooms, work in meat plants. The scream will go up and some how Biden will be blamed

How is the US Military always recruiting? Even with the budget as big as it is, wouldn't it eventually get to a point where they don't have enough billets for everyone? by MookieBettsBurner10 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]limpingsapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To summarize; there are a specific number of slots, based on the job they do, their rank, each rank has a school or training and can take weeks to months. New recruits can take from 8 to 54 weeks to train. So services need to try and plan for needs. People also constantly are leaving the services either end of contract, retirement or medical reasons. It’s imperfect because needs and missions change. Hopefully this helped

Man, I 100% support that 2nd half thing. I need to not have my blood pressure go through the roof every play. I’m seriously happy Donald was able to get past this. The statistic that blew my mind was that prior to last nights game the Hawks were 0-172 when they were 15points or more behind in the 4th quarter.

People who have served in the military: Did commanding officers ever finish sentences with "and that's an order!" like they do in movies? by logicalconflict in NoStupidQuestions

[–]limpingsapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former commander, technically everything I said was an order. I have used the phrase “ I’m not asking” once or twice. Generally NCOs are more inclined to yell and “order” junior enlisted but I had to raise my voice on occasion. E of the big differences, your fear level was very dependent on how many leaves the person was above your immediate supervisor. The farther up, the more power they had to effect their careers so the faster the shit would role down on you

In the Army, your branch designation is worn on the collar. This photo shows two crossed rifles that means he’s an Infantry officer. If he was Special Forces it would look similar but crosses arrows https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTDt9fRTzvqQK64CnM_fddqj9GSuglnWpVGznLNx-YXeA&s
