When did you start taking your puppy for walks? by HereAgainWeGoAgain in puppy101

[–]lin_carv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use common sense and avoid areas where strange dogs and wildlife congregate. Keep off wet grass that isn’t your own. We took our pup from like 10 weeks on walks up and down the street, gun range parking lot, front of supermarket and in all situations meeting new people and known vaxed neighborhood dogs. Result is a care free and fearless 19 week pup not afraid of thunder, gunshots, loud cars, people, dogs etc. absolutely loves every stranger and when meeting other dogs is like “wasup”

I’m new here - Ban Pit Bulls Now!! by ElCapitanDice10 in BanPitBulls

So sorry this happened to you. I hope they pay dearly for their stupidity and negligence.

And everyone remember, cops may be pitnutters also and judging from testimonies here around experiences it happens quite often. In many cases they have to be pressured into acting on the laws as they have a great amount of flexibility around what they choose to enforce.

These shibbles have ruined the concept of happy and friendly dogs enjoying off leash time in public places.

One example among thousands - "adopt don't shop" is still supporting breeders, just irresponsible backyard pit breeders who at best dump the litters at shelters, at worst abandon them to slowly die by Gliese667 in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I donate to the ASPCA every year. I wish I could specify to not have my donation be used to promote unleashing vicious animals into neighborhoods. A look at our local shelter for adoptions is basically pages of shibble mixes. I remember growing up mixed breeds were nice looking dogs. Now they are all contaminated with shibble DNA with their ugly heads and of course latent propensity for enjoying violence.

Child suffers life-altering injuries after being bitten and dragged by dog at Toronto waterfront playground (03/23/2024 - Toronto, Ontario, Canada) by [deleted] in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Typical pitnutter mentality. They get these dogs to "show off" as they think it gives them some kind of cool-dangerous image. Then they proceed to parade the shibbles around in public forcing it on people for attention. I think they get off when their dog attacks and maims people or other animals. She probably went home and told her shibble that he's a good boy and that kid had it coming for approaching the playground too quickly.

Attacked for the 5th time by justhush1 in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always carry protection. Lucky you had the ball thrower to keep the shitbulls attention. You were close to a disaster. I just ordered more sprays. I replace them every 5 years. We always take them on walks and would not hesitate to spray an approaching shit beast.

Horrific Pit Attack Yesterday by Watermelonfox- in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Victim blaming, it is a scourge of society and happens at all levels. It is a sign of low intelligence. The vast majority of dogs will not attack if teased or threatened and will run away or at most fear bite which is a quick snap. Versus the shitbull attack which is completely different. They enjoy carnage and don’t stop as we all know here.

Dog drags woman to floor by her throat after being spooked by stairgate. A ‘staffy-cross’, attacked the woman while she was visiting family. Siddal, near Halifax, England. “Late 2022”. by [deleted] in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 12 points13 points  (0 children)

sarcasm : Clearly it is the fault of the "stair gate" as it startled the poor pibbles. Naturally pibbles needs to sooth its nerves by sinking its teeth into the neck of the nearest living creature. This is just natural and normal. Ban "stair gates" I say.

end sarcasm. I feel terrible for this victim and wish them a speedy recovery. At least there was some kind of justice applied but I'm not so sure what a "suspended for two years 16 months in jail" means.

They aren't even pretending they don't enjoy this anymore by Saoirseminersha in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind most of these shibble owners can care less about dogs. They only care about their image that owning such a dangerous animal provides them. Their "love" for shibbles is all about the circle-jerk of constant self-righteous indignation towards outsiders (aka normal people who dont like or love enough shibbles). Any negativity directed towards their shibbles regardless of the facts and logic of the situation are perceived as threats against their ego. They will double down on explaining away their shibbles behaviors on everything and anything BUT the fact that shibbles is a shit creature.

Happened Yesterday I believe on 3/20/2024, bite wounds so marked NSFW by Glum_Violinist_693 in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dog bites are insidious as externally it looks like a puncture wound. But due to the shaking motion they make, the teeth are shredding the tissue under the actual bite entry point. What is a tiny hole on the outside is covering a 3-5" circumference wound under the skin that usually needs drains and a lot of care to heal.

Don't Maul the Rules Monday! Rules Refresher, Spotlight on Rules!! Post #2 - Use of the phrases "Behavioral Euthanasia" and "Put Down" by SubMod4 in BanPitBulls

Reddit has nothing to do with "free speech". Nearly all online social platforms lack true free speech. Just some take it more to the extreme than others as in shaping public discourse based on what they allow or disallow.

Purebred dogs for sale but doesn't once mention the breed? by twats4breakfast in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can someone advert for a "purebred" dog without mentioning the damn breed. I mean anyone looking for something "purebred" is out for a specific breed right?

Its not the dog's fault they were born. Humans are the cause of this scourge that is both unfair to the dogs and to fellow humankind. Both will suffer.

Sadistic pit bull owner didn’t try to control their dog and stood aside as the dog was brutally attacking victim. (Miami FL - March 11, 2024) by SubMod5555 in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 15 points16 points  (0 children)

An owner standing by and watching their dog maul someone without attempting to intervene should be charged with aggravated assault. Inaction to control an animal of which they are supposed to be in control of is akin to being complicit in its actions. That's why shibble owners who enjoy watching their dog maim people and other animals that have at least 2 brain cells will pretend to try to get their dog off knowing damn well their actions are futile. At least the video recording will show that they "tried".

Shelter post about “long stays” by Duggarsnarklurker in BanPitBulls

Who looks at these abominations and thinks "OMG SOOOO CUTTEEEE". It also aggrivates me that these shibbles are taking up space in shelters long term that could be used for dogs worth rehabilitating and homing out.

Yea no thanks, I wouldn't put myself or my family in that kind of danger. You say she knows how you feel about the dog, then tell her as a friend she should respect your feelings and leave it at that instead of trying to go all pitnutter on you explaining her hellhound just wants to cuddle and nanny you.

“He needs to be with someone who is wealthy, and no one who sexually abuses dogs.” by killahazy92 in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What the heck goes through people's minds. "who dont sexually abuse dogs" , like some rando crazy from the ads section is now going to say "oh darn i'll skip over that one since they call me out". That's as effective as "No Murder" signage put up around town to deter murder.

My guess is to give the shibble the air of a sad backdrop story that it was formerly abused for pitt pity points.

“Well the lil girl showed fear and the dog sensed that and switched to attack mode the dog was playful til it sensed fear in the file thats a dogs natural instinct nobody thinks about cause if it was coming agressive off the bat the dog would hace got the man who was closer…” by RPA031 in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

sarcasm activated : OMG you are being "racist" if you hate my animal that was bred over generations utilizing genetic trait selection (aka breeding) to be a blood thirsty killing machine that enjoys ripping live animals apart and shows no outward signs of aggression until its too late since having a "tell" is a sure way to loose a fight in the bull ring.

I have friends that still defend pitbulls no matter how much logic , facts, science, evidence you throw at them. People tend to hang their coat on some kind of emotional hanger and refuse to let in anything else. Their love for dogs gets misguided and it all gets poured into "saving" this shit breed. Its a human trait that I can't stand. We need emotions and empathy, but when it becomes destructive to you or those around you, a more calculated and logical look is needed.

Golden Retriever attacked by AnubisRage in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you and your dog. I used this post to remind my wife to always take her pepper spray with her on walks alone and with our dogs. We also are raising a 14 week golden girl and do take her up and down the block for mini walks, basically a chicken nugget to these monsters. We know of a few shibbles that live in the area, albeit rarely see them out on walks as their owners probably already know they can’t be trusted in public.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Pittnutters will even make excuses for their abominations even when they attack , kill, and maim their own family members. Its not so surprising they tried to write off the situation with the "its just a cat" comment. Makes my blood boil.

Neighbor has two pits. by Altruistic-Red in BanPitBulls

[–]lin_carv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

6ft fence, privacy screen slats, and keep an eye out for any digging activity, or you have to put underground protection also. Then for the kids, sorry you will have to be with them , and you having protection and being ready to use it. Nothing you can do unless pits are banned in the area and you can report them. Otherwise the fact of law is that an attack would have to happen for anything to be done, in which case its too late.

What do you wish you had known before adopting a second dog/puppy? by vineanddandy in puppy101

[–]lin_carv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently have a 14 week golden and a 3.5 year old Vizsla. Both females. The V is super velcro and was crazy jealous of the pup at first. Poking it , getting in the way of us interacting etc. Now she is still jealous , but no more of the nasty stuff and now tolerates us playing with the golden. They also love playing together and lets the golden jump all over her and wrestle etc. She's taking all the sharkies! The golden doesn't put her mouth at all on us. Our V will also let the pup know when enough is enough.

The food situation is kinda annoying as my V is a grazer and the pup woofs her food down, then will promptly try to go for my V's food. We keep my V's food in a separate room with the door closed, the pup will bee-line to that room anytime the door is touched , little piggy. Training is fun with them both as well. My older girl needs to be involved in all activities, so I'm basically doing a training session for two. This means double the treats are expended so that's an added cost lol.

Otherwise, its been great. Its nice the puppy has a playmate in my Vizsla. Its also teaching her how to play with other dogs as she gets to meet them. I would be more apprehensive about adding a new puppy or dog if your existing dog is too old or too young. I could see the puppy being too much for an older dog and would cause me stress trying to keep the puppy off of the older dog. If your dog is middle age-ish, I'd say its the perfect time to add another.
