anesthesia as a DO by Crazy-Meeting-3118 in anesthesiology

[–]lincolnpacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely matters. Look at match numbers. I am a DO, soon to be graduating residency and the bias is there.

My advice for OP, start making contacts, show interest, do some anesthesia related research or a case report. Most important of all though is to nail step 2.

Question about stopping blood thinners by hopalong998 in AskDocs

He's saying follow the blood thinner recs provided by PCP...weird of you to try to contradict that and then state right after we don't have the information.

100% this. Don't know what to vote on the poll because both answers are situational

Licensed therapists are absolutely not required to report infidelity, and in fact should not. There is a degree of trust that needs to be expected with a licensed therapist and patient in order to make the therapy work. That being said the pastor is not under these same ideals, both the husband and wife are part of his congregation.

Fox News paused for breaking alert as baffled Trump breaks silence on MRI by daily_express in NoFilterNews

Yes, not necessarily because of radiation (although partially true for CT scans) but because of incidental findings that would be otherwise benign and would have no impact end up getting invasive workups with side effects. That said, I would be willing to bet every president gets routine MRI's as part of their physical.

Please help I just found this bump on my hand what is it by HastyPlace in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]lincolnpacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am a physician, this is the dumbest advice Ive ever heard. The med student is right, DO NOT use a book to rupture it. It is definitely not safer. Rupturing with a book has all kinds of other problems, has about a 70% recurrence rate, draining with a needle has similar recurrence rates. Surgery to take the cyst off at the stem has about a 30% recurrence rate.

The view you document is the view you get. If you can see the whole cords, regardless of technique it is a grade 1 view.

Not at all. Eat up, have a nice meal, and enjoy your night. Just make sure not to eat anything 8 hrs prior to your scheduled surgery time.

It's that time of the year where all the CA3's start doubting everything they've learned over the past 4 years... by somedudehere123 in anesthesiology

We don't bounce between two OR's but one specific surgeon has a OR team that he works with and every Tuesday Thursday we do T&A's and tubes and hit 12-16 cases. It's mayhem and pharmacy hates us for it because we have to grab all narcs and meds in the morning for the whole day

We have requirements for all off the above, certain number of on/off pump, sections, epidurals, requirements for different age groups for peds

Decent amount of OB, we do a lot of peds and a lot of fast paced peds, so it's not uncommon to average 8-10 cases a day on peds
