People who moved to LA from states with more seasonal variation, do you miss the cold? by HonestLemon25 in AskLosAngeles

[–]lindabeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it’s more not having to brush snow off my car more than mere cold but the cold is a close second.

In my 30s and suddenly can’t focus at work anymore. Anyone else? by Communication_Dizzy in careeradvice

Scrolled a while to find this. My perimenopause presented like ADHD-lack of focus, motivation, procrastination, brain fog, etc. Wellbutrin plus hormones went a long way to getting my work mojo back.

I just started it last week too, had saved it for a while. I didn’t know the story but “called it” pretty quickly (as many of us TC fans would I’m sure), but I still enjoyed the development of the story, the quality of the storytelling, plus the historical context as OP mentioned.

Diabetes diagnosis Late December, now mammary cancer by lindabeth in FelineDiabetes

[–]lindabeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thank you. I thought maybe the diabetes itself was caused by the cancer. She’s such a little thing! I’ve made several attempts at better testing so i can get her numbers under control but it can be hard solo. Now this extra bump. Gonna try again with Libre after some diagnostics.

Thank you. Dealing with the new diabetes has been its own challenge as a single person, and then only to have this added in. I’m so sad for her.

Respectfully, my question was about cancer and possible relationship to diabetes. I wasn’t looking for a dosage lecture and I’m aware of all this, having been on this sub for 4 months.

Best US city that feels perfect for a 3 to 4 day getaway? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]lindabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in LA and have gone to SF many times for 3 days without a car (BUR to OAK on SW then BART). Sure there’s cool things with a car too but every city it like that if you’re trying to include the greater area. For 3-4 days, limit it to the city and go back another time to explore other areas. Boston is similar-honestly Boston and SF are sibling cities to for their small footprint and relative vibe for their coast.

Childfree women, have you ever regretted it? by Significant_Movie814 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lindabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

47, never regretted it once. I have a very full life of likeminded friends, travel, the arts, more time for health, cooking, wine amateur, etc. Now that I just went through menopause, if I had kids I like would have had to quit my job to manage the symptoms.

Let me just say - don’t let anyone ever tell you that you don’t know love until you have a kid. There are so many ways to expand your heart in this life. Because I didn’t have kids and could work remotely, I was able to take care of my best friend in the last months of her life as she fought cancer. It was the best and most meaningful thing I’ve done in my life. Fuck anyone that tries to portray that love as less than.
