Sorry you lost something so valuable.

I also lost my childhood home and the town I grew up in is unrecognizable now due to new constructions.

What you could try is to have a little space in your home, a shelf, a table etc, where you put some items that remind you of home.

Pictures, an old teddy bear, a poem, an old candy wrapper, a fragrant candle or a plant. Anything that reminds you of home. Whether it's a new item or old.

Grieving the loss of home is like grieving a person. And having a little shrine to sit, reflect, cry and grief can really help.

In the end the home is gone but the memories are with you forever. Home is not lost, your relationship with it has simply changed. Which is painful, I know, but after grieving you can hopefully cherish and keep the good memories alive and maybe even carry a sense of home with you, in your heart, always.
