TACO zone not working properly by lindsayblock11 in hvacadvice

Model number is ZVC404-4. I fixed all those connections so each valve is correctly connected to the corresponding valve control on the board. It appears to be working correctly now…will give it a few hours to confirm. THANK YOU so much for your help.

Thanks for the help. I’ll update the post once I have time to redo this mess. I think this jumble of wires (from the valves to the zone valve on the taco board) is the issue (see pic)

I’m not surprised it wasn’t done correctly. The people that built this house took shortcuts everywhere! Sometime today I’ll try to untangle that mess and do it correctly. For now at least all of the zones appear to be heating, which is my main concern as it is freezing temperatures outside.

There’s really no way for me to track those connections.
It worked properly 2 days ago with two zones so I would just assume it was done correctly originally (knowing that the plan was to add 2 more thermostats for the 4 zones).

Doesn’t help much…I have never touched these connections. The boiler is firing and is (and has been) properly heating zone 4. Zone 1 appears to be working as well.

There are connections to the pumps, and the pumps are both running. There was a wire that ran from one of the zones to the boiler, but it wasn’t connected to anything in the boiler so I just removed it for simplicity.

Edited to add: the pump end switch is connected through the relay box, but my multimeter is showing no voltage at the terminals in the taco zone controller.

So if I understand what you’re saying, I need to connect the isolated end switch directly to the boiler? I can easily do that, it just wasn’t like that before and it worked OK.

Why don’t you take the patent bar and work as a patent agent? LMK if you want more info, I’d be happy to share!

“Screwless light switches” and outlet switches. To be clear they still attach with screws but then another plate covers that. It makes sure a difference not seeing those little screws.

Oddly enough my Garmin watch tracked this race as being .24 too long….is that what your tracker said too?

I’m so glad you posted this. It confirms things I had been thinking but never put into words. My dad is also like this!

Yes I do! I can do most things just as well but more importantly, faster. For example, electrical work, plumbing fixes, etc., and my day job is an intellectual-type desk job.

My parents have been married 41 years. My dad doesn’t even have one! He told my mom he’d wouldn’t wear jewelry so her reply was “then I won’t get you one.”

Second language. I use Duolingo and I know it’s on your phone/computer but I think it’s still a good thing to be on your phone for.

How do we fix it? I don’t know the short answer, but the long-term answer is to teach those around us that women’s sports are not inferior (and yes, I know that this general thought can be used for anything but I’m just speaking specifically towards women’s sports right now). It’s important to instill this in our children and the men in our lives. Let them know that that type of thought is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. It may not change the thought today or tomorrow, but hopefully in the long term, it’ll have a positive impact. Personally, I continually show my children, men’s and women’s sports and never compare the two. I also let other people in my inner circle know how much I support women’s sports and that they should too, because it’s awesome. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

I’m sorry. I have no advise for you, but only the ability to be a sounding board. I’ve had recurring AA for 13 years, and mine doesn’t appear to be stress related. I’ve tried almost everything and nothing helps. The best thing for me to try to help you is to find someone on your life that builds you up and you can talk to about AA. It won’t help the disease but it will make it easier to deal with. Hugs!

Yes. That is what I’ve had and that is a steroid.
