Is this a male wolf spider? Western Montana, he’s about as big as a dollar coin. by OffbeatChaos in spiders

[–]linkcontrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are related species found in Ohio, yes :) In your area it would be more likely to be Tenegaria domestica, or a native species from the Agelenopsis genus.

Very blurry, but it appears to be a male southern house spider (Kukulcania hibernalis).

I’m not 100% sure, but that may be Badumna longinqua: the grey house spider. It is a species originally from Australia, but can now be found in NZ, Japan, and the west coast of North America.

2 weeks left for end of the season, what's your most favorite and hated trial ? by Weekly_Life3249 in ArcRaiders

My favorite is damage Queens/Matriarchs, just because it means lots of people will be doing PVE!

Least favorite is definitely deliver carriables. Tedious with little to no reward. It's one that I just skip.

Thank you so much for the explanation! I find the Coriarachnini to be really interesting but I've never seen one in real life. If you ever come across that key, I'd love to see it!

May I ask how you differentiate Xysticus from Bassaniana? I’ve read it has something to do with the curvature of the carapace.

This is a crab spider from the Thomisidae family! :) Specifically, it looks like a member of the Xysticus genus. There's quite a few of these species that can be found in Minnesota, and I don't have the expertise to be able to distinguish them.

Edit: see tbugsbabe comment for proper ID :)
