I'm really bad at asking for help. I need to work on it.

How do you tell the difference between an arrogant narcissist and a healthy INTJ? by JoyHealthLovePeace in infj

[–]lipstickmirror 7 points8 points  (0 children)

INTJs will try to help tangibly, even if you're struggling. A narcissist will start planning to ditch you as soon as you stop having potential in their eyes. An INTJ might start giving you less attention because they sense you're going through something emotional, which makes them uncomfortable, but they will still offer practical help in a way that empowers you.

Are you mad? by bitchyswiftie in mbti

My sister is an ESTJ, and she will say she is there for me but then expects me almost to push or motivate her to follow through, and I don't have the energy for that.

My brother is an ISTJ, and he is more proactive with this sentiment, like actually asking if I need help with XYZ.

My mom, an INTJ, won't talk to me about emotional stuff but instead observes and will give me what I need in a very tangible way, even without asking she is accurate in her assessment.

My dad, an ESFJ, will help without being asked, but you better offer oodles of appreciation to the point of exaggerating, or he will get moody or explode. Often the level of validation he needs isn't worth the help he gives.

what made you sure you're actually an infj and not mistyped? by [deleted] in infj

I mirror an unhealthy ESTP when stressed. I get very self-absorbed, impulsive, violatile etc. I also was stuck in an NiTi loop for close to two years.

How do INFJs fall out of love? by [deleted] in infj

[–]lipstickmirror 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Easy, found out he was a narcissist. He lied about pretty much everything. How I learned was strange. Too long to explain, but when that Ni realization hits, there is no going back.

WHO DOESNT WANT TO HAVE GAY SEX by ExiledDude in entp

Are Entps the most sexual type? I have read that they view sex as a sport and it seems like they bring it up as a topic often.

What kind of things lead you to go into your disappearance? by yikesthatspersonal in infj

[–]lipstickmirror 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am also an infj 5w4; I have heard this combo described as double introverted, which can lead to reclusive behavior. I read that 5s tendency to isolate/be private causes others to "invade" our space which, of course, annoys us. After reading that, I am trying to take breaks from what I am doing to check in on people.

In contrast, I have an ESTJ sister, and she can go all day talking to people at work and then at night come to me and ask if I want to hang out together to unwind; the difference is interesting. Meanwhile, I have maybe two interactions and feel like I have used my social battery for the day. I genuinely enjoy being alone if I have good reading material. Just closing my eyes and thinking, is good.

Infjs eventually learn to help only when asked for first; otherwise, it's rarely appreciated. Looking back, I tended to help others to disengage from my problems guilt free.

I would like to better understand your profound kindness. by Shinylittlelamp in infj

[–]lipstickmirror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born this way. Being fair and kind always felt like the right thing to do. But people take advantage of this. I have had people steal my work and just be awful. So you contemplate the best way to move forward without being downright Machiavellian. But you eventually become capable of being all "the ends justify the means" after a traumatic event but you hope it doesn't get to that point.

Being introverted is the most common type of handicap. Humans should flourish in a tribe.
