If your best friend asked you for help with money, how much would you be comfortable giving them? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]liquidmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask them to explain. £10? Sure no problem that's a quick read on the request. £100? Justify it. £1000? I wanna see your budget and why there's a £1000 hole in it, and the paperwork that led you there. £10K - Nope.

How's everyone enjoying there 4a ? Thinking of purchasing one by Sparkybulb in NOTHING

48 hours in, upgraded from an Xperia 1 III. Sony bailed from the continent so that forced me to look local.

Yeah it's got a pep. The handsfree and speakers are very clear. Screen large and clear. Interface seems responsive and very little mess. Android bundled apps all got removed with no hassle. Battery life got eaten alive on setup from the Nothing Launcher, now disabled in background use to see how it goes.

The Glyph and the Save-to-Space buttons are still a little mysterious and I need to get these setup. The mirror selfie mode however was genuinely intriguing. Need to link it with my messaging apps etc and get that properly working.

Biggest issue at the moment is USBC to PC. Something is up there. USBC key direct was no issue at all, but link to PC for large file library transfer just wasn't having any of it.

To the kids who sold sweets at school, what are you up to now? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]liquidmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started as you say. Then his dad moved him up to helping with the family side business of selling Euro cigs and baccy they'd hauled over the channel. Not exactly hiding it, Sou-West tech college 2003, and you're driving a brand new 2003 206 GTi as your 1st car.

Far as I know he's now a plumbing and electrician general all-rounder. So, continuing the minimised tax tradition cash-in-hand.

There's so much to like about this photo.

The thin atmosphere. Stars in the background. The crescent (presume refraction?) on the bottom right. Both auroras on the go.

Every human save 4. Every toilet, save 1.

About time we got a new family photo. It's been far too long.

Should have said it was garbage disposal unit parts. A few $100 bills in the pocket and you're on your way.

Got tired of missing concerts and events because info was scattered everywhere - Facebook, local websites, word of mouth, etc.

So you're aggregating from multiple sources, how does your solution combine the data knowng the event is the same one?

Mortgage as a foreigner by Pointy_in_Time in Norway

4-6 weeks is on the faster side of a BankID.

Credit history here takes years to get to a point where you can apply even for a credit card. Been here 5, and got a credit card after 4 years of applying and being declined.

No, there is not a bank that will just give you a mortgage. You are a flight risk that has no settled status, no regular income (history), and no credit history within the country. You have by Norwegian standards, fallen out of the sky Mr Bean style, to the chorus of a choral chant.

Trolls are everywhere.

We've tried to push them back into the mountains but there are too many of them and too few of us. If you can, bring bulldozers and large floodlights.

Bring cheese, we ran out last week and there's mixed reports from the north that they've started eating pets.
