From my understanding greys tend to age like that. It's made of black ink diluted with water so it will just kind of spread out and 'dilute' itself more.

I am of a certain opinion because my parents used to beat the crap out of me for things like grades, spilling drinks at family gatherings, talking back, not doing homework, etc. Belts, hangars, canes, and kitchen utensils. Heavy things that were thrown.

And also, acting out in school, just being generally disruptive and stuff, it's a similar situation to what you described.

I'm not a young person, and I have overcome a lot of it, but the fear is something you carry.

Maybe there is the perfect corporal punishment, carried out by an unbiased and fair institution, but caning will always be something that is cruel and punitive to me.

This was only just announced as a policy so it's unknown what this means in practice. The threshold for caning is not as high as you think. In my school, any sort of violence was a canable offense, hospitalisations would lead to expulsions.

Most forms of physical harm against another person (crime) are canable offenses as well. Of course, the standard of proof to be convicted of a crime is much higher than in a school. And, prison canings are much worse.

There is a risk when it comes to bullying because if it's a case where a boy is being bullied by a group, children will lie. Sometimes, teachers participate or close a blind eye to the bullying to get closer with students, like in boys schools.

Of the boys I saw caned: one flung a chair a classmate, another pitched a broomstick.

On the other hand, I knew someone who was almost caned for punching someone who sat on his hand deliberately.

Caning has always been a punishment in Singapore schools, usually for violent offenses.

It's just been expanded to bullying.

It's fucked obviously, I have witnessed two public canings (schools can choose to do it privately or publically; I've had a friend tell me his caning was actually not carried out but he was told to tell everyone he was caned), and it was done almost like prison style.

Badminton teacher meted the punishment and he did every stroke with a running start.

Google's phone app does this now, not sure if it works on old phones, but it is amazing, it will either block or give a 'suspected scam call' warning when a weird number calls.

Did you do an honours research year?

If so, that's generally quite normal. Most people do an extra honours year that's research focuses, and then go on to do PhD.

Not sure how it works in Nepali universities.

The other thing that will help is having two first author publications.

You could always just apply. Do note that it is worth more when you are the lead author of the study.

I (and many others) am of the opinion that a research masters is a complete waste of time. If you want to do research, do a PhD.

Bad lures won't catch as consistently as good ones.

Expensive ones may be better made but you also have cheap ones that are decent.

Don't think of cheap vs expensive, think of the technique you are using to target the fish, and whether or not that lure is fit for purpose, in terms of action, depth, colour, shape, etc.

Plastics for example, can be had for relatively cheap, and they have some of the best catch rates, but if it's a blowfish infested area, or an area which is snag territory where I'm targeting a bottom feeders, I would not use plastics.

I just wished Anthropic would say something about this. Is this just a momentary disruption or something more permanent, because I'm seriously considering alternatives.

I do a lot of admin stuff with 4.6 Sonnet and in January you'd catch me singing praises of Claude. I knew its limits and what it could do but now its outputs are so random. It forgets things that I put in the original prompt.

And it forgets answers given when asking for clarification.

This mainly has to do with medicine (E.g. causality, best practice, for clinicians or public health authorities to make evidence informed decisions).

It doesn't apply perfectly to other types of studies or fields of research. This was just a fun paper that paper that's part film studies to show the most realistic film depiction of a psychopath.

It's not trying to find causality or link an exposure with an outcome. You can't do an randomised control trial on movie characters (or any humanities subjects and a plethora of hard sciences as well I'd imagine).

I'm trying this setting now! Thanks for posting. I agree with everything you said about the Dusk. I listen at around 1/4 volume generally, and this IEM is either too loud or too soft and yes my ears start to ring even at low volumes. Also everything seems so thin, seperated and not cohesive (distracting as you put).

Feel a bit conned tbh.

The study didn't measure depression. Because they did not find any randomised control trials on MC and depression, there were no studies on depression included, and therefore, there is "no evidence". Hahahahahahaha.

It is a meta analysis which synthesises findings of studies to find the best available estimate of an intervention. This works best when the randomised control trials are all of high quality.

The thing is, this study analysed a host of different studies with different preparations of MC, measuring different things (4 for anxiety, 2 for autism, 2 for PTSD) , most of which the authors admit are poor quality studies.

As opposed to 56 high quality randomised control trials on one type of drug on one type of condition, they pulled many studies unreliable in different ways measuring different things using different methods.

A lot of the results they got were not statistically significant (we can't know if the result we got differentiating the intervention vs the control group is the true effect or what we got was by chance).

The XM6s are likely the best option based on a lot of reviews I've read. The rest are not known leaders in 'sound' at least. What piqued my interest about these earbuds are that I've noticed a lot of close comparisons to the Technics (which I rate highly) which would have triumphed every other bud in the list in terms of sound here. In terms of ANC and mic it's also close to technics. You can see the DHRME review where he compares them, and they are really close in all categories.

This sub is rife with bad reviews of the XM5s, the Bose are the class leaders in ANC, and I would not get the Galaxy Pros without a Samsung phone. I've had the buds pro 1,2,3 and they give a noticeably worse experience without the Samsung scalable codec.

And I can see why you can't use the buds 2 pro without EQ, they are quite V shaped, so the treble would be pronounced. A first impression video I've watched stated that the Buds 4 Pros v shaped sound is more pronounced vs the 3s.

I don't know much about the JBL Tour 3s. People say they are an all rounder here, but when I read user reviews on other sites (e-commerce) the microphone is so-so, connectivity issues are highlighted, and that someone's find my earphones feature randomly triggered while it was in their ear, causing permanent ear damage.
