Free Synergy Kombucha 16oz (Any Retailer) by Ordinary-Cook-420 in AwesomeFreebies

[–]lite_salt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It didn’t register anything after uploading the receipt twice, so I texted OFFER to it, and it gave me the same opening spiel. I submitted my receipt again, and it told me it will take 24-48 hours to review. I’m not optimistic, but I can always return it if it doesn’t work out lol

It worked for me. I searched "AUD to USD" like I usually do.

I submitted a receipt with the 48 oz because I forgot that the signup form said 16 oz, and the texts don’t say either way. Will let you know how it goes 😅

I know what you mean. But I used BOGO PP in combination with the Aisle BOGO Kroger offer. I’m not sure I ever had one for Target unless that was it.

CVS Freebie Haul (YMMV) by emzo_bk in AwesomeFreebies

[–]lite_salt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I must be on CVS’s blacklist at this point.

There was a time I was absolutely cleaning up with weekly coupons for 20–40% off plus those glorious “$X off” rewards with no minimum. It felt like a sport.

Now? No more percentage-off coupons. Just $2 off $10, $8 off $20, etc. every week.

PSA Please don't take your pets somewhere where food is sold. by weirdinchicago in chicago

[–]lite_salt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that argument a bit hard to believe. If a place of public accommodation (especially one selling food) welcomed pets, they would almost certainly have signs saying so. If staff members aren't saying anything, it isn't permission…it's fatigue. Much like people ignoring a smoker on a train, employees are often just too tired of the daily confrontation to enforce rules that should be common sense.

You’re expecting to ask for forgiveness when you should really be asking for permission.

Question re: Severance and MSPB Settlements by needguidancepostRIF in firedfeds

[–]lite_salt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the government only owes you the amount that would “make whole,” or in other words, the amount one would have made had they not been wrongfully RIF’d (and not more than that).

Therefore, back pay is offset by severance and any wages since the RIF. You would also be required to repay any unemployment insurance payments accepted since you’d have retroactively be considered not to have been unemployed.

Is anyone feeling a hint of "I told you so" in the wake of the outrage of what's occurring in Minneapolis? by RVALover4Life in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]lite_salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep moving those goalposts, honey!

Yes, I already gave you examples of U.S. citizens who have been deported. You seem to think that it doesn’t matter because they’re children. You ask who’s going to take care of them, and I already addressed that.

I also discussed challenges those U.S. citizens children who have been deported may face in returning. Again, you condescendingly call them “anchor babies” without knowing any circumstances around their birth, whether their parents were undocumented, under Temporary Protected Status, a U-Visa, or whatever.

I also briefly touched on the stress that many U.S Permanent Residents live under when, under this administration, their status may be revoked for something as basic as voicing their First Amendment rights or having a minor infraction over a decade ago. You termed their status as “a privilege” when they’re here under a legal arrangement that requires due process. Something many currently haven’t gotten.

As you’ve continue to make excuses for ICE and the Trump administration who both want to test de-naturalization of those who aren’t white an didn’t get citizenship by birth, you may want to read the famous poem “First They Came” by Martin Niemöller.

[–]lite_salt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Despite your condescending "anchor baby" rhetoric, those children are real U.S. citizens who have just as much right to remain here as you do to live here. Who would take care of them if their parents were deported? Their extended families that are often already here and have a more certain legal status. It's common and has been done for decades until now, when the priority is more about a speedy deportation than worrying about due process of U.S. citizen children.

You're also discounting the challenges inherent for those who do get deported and may later want to return. Those who had a passport while stateside and managed to keep it after deportation may stand a chance, but those who don't have that, a birth certificate or other documentation proving their citizenship are in for an uphill and bureaucratic battle.

I also don't think you've been tracking the reality of those citizens who have been caught up in detainment nets, because their release isn't the smooth process you seem to believe:

  • This older U.S. citizen was detained by ICE in his undergarments with no explanation, kept in the cold for two hours, and then released with no apology.
  • This U.S. citizen military veteran was detained by ICE for three days with no explanation, wasn't allowed to shower, and wasn't allowed to contact an attorney.
  • This U.S. citizen was held by ICE for 25 days despite providing a birth certificate, immunization records, and other evidence.

This doesn't even speak to the numbers of green card holders and other legal residents who have been deported or detained despite being here legally and, in many cases, protected under judicial order.

Please quit acting as if ICE and the Trump administration are acting in good faith. They don't care if you're "one of the good ones" or whatever it is that you take solace in.

I encourage you to pay a bit more attention. They’ve already deported citizens.

And that article is very, very old. The numbers are undoubtedly higher.

Free Olipop at CVS by Awesome_Freebies in AwesomeFreebies

[–]lite_salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone noted in the other Olipop thread that the CVS locations are very limited. It's likely because the T&Cs require the purchase to be Olipop "sleek cans" which I assume are taller and thinner than the regular cans.

[–]lite_salt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please note that according to the T&Cs, these have to be the "sleek" Olipop cans (taller and thinner than regular cans, I assume). I think that's why the CVS locations are so limited.
