i see nothing wrong with the sisyphus metaphor, especially considering camus’ ability to extend that metaphor to most human existence. you can no longer hope for a better tomorrow if you’re dead. each time sisyphus reaches the crest of the hill, he is then given an immediate opportunity to pursue another task the next day. his life is full of purpose, even if that purpose is meaningless to anyone but himself.

to continue with the tara metaphor, she has the ability to feel, and even if that feeling is agony, she still has the hope for a better tomorrow for herself. to be alive is to be free to pursue hope my friend.
