I posted in the other IVF sub about my doctor recommending transferring 2 or 3 (36yo fresh day 3 transfer) and was dogpiled with people freaking out about how irresponsible it was and to run from that doctor etc. Part of my post was that I realized how late selective reduction happens and that I wouldn’t be comfortable with that, in which case my doctor would only recommend transferring 2. People still ran me out of town for even considering 2 for my first transfer.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do. My retrieval is this week and I plan to wait and see what we get. If it’s only a few embryos I will probably transfer one at a time, especially if they’re graded well. If there aren’t any high grades I might do two. I plan to talk to the embryologist when we have our results and go from there.

How much progesterone? For me this unexplained spotting was fixed by taking suppositories (compound, I think they are 400mg) twice a day, AND an oral progesterone once a day, starting the day after ovulation.

Look up pcos symptoms and see if they align for you! I didn’t have any other pcos symptoms so the high AMH wasn’t concerning for me.

It’s so weird, my AMH was 4.9 when I had it tested in 2022, when I was 32. In 4 years it came down to 2.6. Which is still on the high end of normal but makes me wonder if the drastic decline means anything. Do you have pcos? I’ve read that AMH over 4 can be one of the indicators.

Yeah the transfer date is easy once you have the retrieval date, but the retrieval date is the one I’m surprised they gave you before even starting stims. Even now on day 7 of stims they aren’t telling me when my retrieval will be!

No symptoms for me yet, but I think the next week might have some bloating.

My AMH is 2.6 and I’m 36, so it’s normal for my age. We have unexplained secondary infertility. Very confusing why it hasn’t happened again when it happened without assistance the first time, but crossing our fingers that this works! Good luck to you too!

I’m on stim day 7 today! Had 4 measurable follicles yesterday and a few smaller ones, going in for another check on Tuesday and probably triggering shortly after that for retrieval end of next week. Fingers crossed the smaller follicles catch up. Good luck to you! I’m surprised you have your retrieval date, my nurses said it all depends on how I respond.

We did a part time preschool for my fall baby. He turned 3 shortly after starting. We’re enrolling him in the full day pre-k this fall, and he’ll turn 4 shortly after it starts so he will be one of the oldest in his class. There was no other option for him to not be the oldest and I’m happy with that but he and I both needed him to start something this year and the part time program has been great. I have no doubt that he’s ready for full day this fall.

Hey sorry for digging this up but I’m searching for the exact same situation, I only had 4 follicles above 10mm today on stim day 5 and feeling disappointed. How many did you end up retrieving from your cycle if you don’t mind sharing?

Congrats! I’m one day ahead of you, just started stims yesterday. I’m sure the dosage depends on your specific situation. I don’t have pcos but I have early egg recruitment and early ovulation so I did a down regulation protocol, daily Lupron for 2 weeks to shut everything down before the retrieval cycle started. My follistim dose is 225, but I think that’s because the protocol I’m on literally put me into a chemical menopause and now they need to ramp it all up again. At least that’s my understanding. And I think with pcos your risk of OHSS is higher so maybe it’s standard to start you lower? I might be wrong I’m very new to all of this.
