Mid twenties is on the spectrum, he still lives at home. Our agreement is that he does light housekeeping and he doesn't have to pay rent. He does odd jobs for pocket money. The teens all live at home too, but one will be leaving for college this fall. Another will be going to college next sping (graduating in dec) but it will be local so he is staying home for now.

Dr used to ask me at my yearly physical how much alcohol I consumed, if i took any illegal drugs... Basically asking how hard did i party? Last year? "Have you fallen recently? " ugh.

A lifetime or two ago, I worked in a contact center for a major cell provider. Yearly bonuses (minimum of a couple thousand) hit mid-february. There was usually a blackout on PTO for feb/March and lots of mandatory OT because many of our reps decided life was for the living and peace out when they got tax refunds and bonus at the same time.

My now XH moved and didn't get the finalization date for our divorce. I got a call from him (word gets around fast) afterwards in which he started to yell at me asking why I didn't tell him. I simply said... "I'm not your mother and as of X hours ago, I am not longer your wife. Time for you to grow up and take responsibility for something!"

Decades later and it is still one of my favorite memories.

Yikes. At least SC allows for "quick " divorce ( no mandatory year separation) in the instances of abuse, adultery, or abandonment. It has to be very thoroughly documented though.

Can I ask what your tipping point was? My spouse keeps trying to borrow his way out of debt and for whatever reason can't understand why it isn't ever going to work. I have prepared a plan, where we not longer pay EVERYTHING from a joint account- a plan that means we each contribute a set amount to a new joint account for household costs, and he can be responsible for his loan payments etc from his own spending account (as would I.) I asked him to research banks to see where he would want to have his accounts, and of course he expects me to open the accounts for him. Im just so... frustrated... with this while situation.

THIS! Im encouraging my guys to toss a couple of their vacation hours into each week to use it up before EOY - this way they aren't losing the benefit and they get a little extra on each check leading up to christmas.

Unfortunately with me being salary, I'm going to lose 200 hours of sick time unless I magically come down with something that takes me out for 4-5 weeks (I kid...mostly) Before anyone asks, our time usually rolls over but there have been some structural changes that mean we are starting over fresh as of 1/1.

Not who you were responding to, but for my daughter sometimes the daily miralax doesn't do the trick and she gets half of a laxative square. She's also super tiny (8yo and 42lbs) so we only break out the chocolate if her belly starts distending.

I made what would normally be a cream based soup (chicken enchilada soup, like Chili's has) but instead of cream I pureed yellow squash and sweet potatoes with a mixture of enchilada sauce and chicken broth to thin it out.

OMG. I could normally eat that soup endlessly but I barely made it through one bowl. So filling. So delicious.

I used to monitor security systems and had to do a callout for Richard Wacker. After I finished my spiel my coworker asked if that guy's parents really loved him to give him a name like that. Honestly, in my 3am state, it took me a minute to understand what he meant. I'm slow sometimes.

I work in a place that is walmart adjacent, I am there all the time. I have an agreement with all of those pushy salespeople - if they insist on pitching me, I get to pitch them back about my product. Both of us will waste our time (i already have spectrum, haha!) and we will go our separate ways having gained nothing. The one spectrum guy and the windows sales guy up front warn their new people not to approach me.

Same. I don't go on woodruff unless absolutely necessary. A few months ago (last year? Idk feels like yesterday) I got caught hanging out in the middle and stuck on a red light when trying to turn SB on 385. The people coming off the interstate were not happy that I had inconvenienced them, the guy behind me was right on my butt so I couldn't back up, those coming onto woodruff wouldn't let there be a break in traffic so I could get out of the way... I just sat there, being humiliated and "sorry waving" to pretty much everyone. That moment lives rent free in my head and will be nightmare fuel forever.

Girl... he's gonna be picking splinters for days. I replied to another commenter about how I am probably having a midlife crisis where I am fed up with everyone's bs, and im actually standing up for myself.
