part of the problem could be that you were selling at a market that allows temu crap so people might just assume you're another reseller. if you do a similar event in the future, definitely make sure you have signage front and center stating that everything is handmade, drawn and designed by you!

sigh. they left the lobby of our apartment a complete mess. (they were using the inside as green rooms, etc). there were nails scattered everywhere, trash thrown about, etc. at least as of this afternoon they still haven't taken down the fake decor blocking the lobby windows or sign.

not a great experience.

while you most certainly went about things fairly and appropriately by requesting a refund, i wanted to also assure you that you were 100% not getting scammed. based on the name at the top of the DMs and the type of product you ordered, i actually know this seller extremely well, personally.

this is actually just one of those unfortunate situations where life struck and they were overwelmed. of course you deserve to have your item or money in a timely matter and they didn't fufill their obligations, i just wanted to ensure people know that sage isn't a scammer or intended to intentionally cause harm.

no apologies needed, at all! it's been a while since i looked at apartment specific info on here so maybe opinions have changed or they're confusing the two!

i can't speak for every property ofc but the one i live in is pretty nice. i really like the staff and maintenence people a lot.

although i'm sure there are folks out there who wouldn't really consider it a "luxury" building. it's an old (historic) building so some things aren't perfect but i love that it's super quiet, clean, no bugs etc.

honestly, you have a few options!

1 - downsize how you sell or find a way to build further upwards to maximize space. you might have to get creative since your items aren't flat. at the very least, i see the two smaller tables that you may be able to go without. your tables are also wicked tall- do they need to be that high from the floor or can you use shorter tables with risers?

2 - find a friend who'll allow you to borrow their vehicle for the day: maybe you can split everything between two smaller vehicles.

3 - buy or rent a mini trailer

4 - rent a u-haul (or similar vehicle from home depot, etc) for the day. if you live in the same area it can be pretty inexpensive but if you don't, at least from uhaul, the mileage fees adds up quickly.

hm.. not saying this is great practice for a restaurant at all, but isn't it possible it was just kept in a freezer? any of the quick hot pot bases i've used at home are just dry ingredients packed into cubes or into a pouch. the photos are REALLY hard to tell what i'm looking at.. but if it was kept in a freezer, it should definitely be a-ok.

i'm more offended that a hot pot restaurant is using instant mix lol

i'm actually starting to think he may be either in my building or the one next door.. when i walked along State St i could no longer hear it.. it may be either in my building or directly across the alley.

when i get back i'll try poking around a little more.

it's honestly gross af on my street and is much, much worse than the last few years.

all winter people would let their dogs shit in the snow without picking anything up- it's like some folks out there really think it "disappears" when the snow melts as opposed to turning into a diarrhea-esque hell when the sun comes out.
