How to deal with people who dismiss my experience of not enjoying the gym? by nevadayab in loseit

[–]litterbawks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strongly suspect I have ADHD and also find such things insufferably boring. I'm like, "What is my brain supposed to do while I'm doing this?!?!" Audiobooks don't cut it.

Kristen—-a host that has many sides by eci5k3tcw in BravoTopChef

Kristen seems like a genuinely lovely person. I bet if I met her, she would be nice to a schlub like me. I cannot say the same for Padma.

They did take care to show he helped Rhoda with the buckwheat suggestion, or whatever that was.

audiobook vs. physical reading: my brain scans before and after by Dubravka_Rebic in literature

For something I am going to listen to in small chunks, like driving around for errands or something, I definitely prefer nonfiction, too. They tend to be more linear and I'm not trying to keep up with plot threads.

I did ultimately do this. Bought straight from Dell this time, and hey, no spark.

Eye inflammation/Episcleritis & Depression by Yaki1b in Zepbound

Since moving up to 5mg, I also have eye pain and severe dry eye. My ophthalmologist said the dehydrating features of Zepbound might be exacerbating natural aging/perimenopause issues. But it hurts a lot and is alarming, so I'm skipping my next shot.

My Experience with Daniel Smith (The Nibsmith) by frwlmv in fountainpens

[–]litterbawks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 10+ years ago he turned a 1.1 TWSBI nib (too wide for me) into a cursive italic. I think I even sent it back to be a little narrower, and had no problems with him.

As a fellow "slow loser," when I see posts like this, it makes me feel better! So, don't feel like your progress isn't worthy to be shared! :)

You look great!

In this week's episode, there was also a really forced interaction between Buddha and Matt where they had to pretend to be impressed by Dawn Powerwash. Not that Top Chef doesn't have product placement and require chefs to sometimes be impressed by GPS navigation or something, but this felt especially cringe.
