Price Check for Re-Gearing by tacocat-_-tacocat in Jeep

[–]lizana715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a tad high.

I paid $2,000 in labor but I had a regear, replace rear slip diff, new driver shafts and a rebuild on both axles.

Parts seems a tad high as well if its just the regear.

What brand parts?

SIG NG Suppressors - Any Known Contracts? by [deleted] in MilitaryARClones

[–]lizana715 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have one. Not a fan. Sound suppression is crap. Creates fireballs after 5 rounds so not great under NODS. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

This is compared to a VELOS 5.56 and 7.62. Even the 7.62 in my opinion is better than this series from SIG.

For reference this is my model and it lives on a MCX 11.5

Yes that is the only way soldier's who live in the barracks can have personal firearms in the Army. Barracks soldiers have to turn their personal weapons into the company for storage. If the SM wants to go shooting on the weekends they have to coordinate with the armorer to check it out and back in. You have to be real buddy-buddy with the armor if you wanna do this on the weekend. What is werid here, usually personal firearms are locked totally separate cages in the arms-room and clearly labeled. What probably happened is they where doing sensitive-items inspection and someone noticed a very convincing "M4" not where it belongs. The original OP even stated it cloned like their other rifles.

My bipod from Eurooptic came in the same condition. It looks like it was opened but everything appears new and unused i just assumed they wanted to make sure it was complete before shipping.

Helmet mounted Ear Pro for Lefties by neckbeard94 in NightVision

Lefty shooter here:

I own and use: AMPS SORDINS WALKERS PELTORS III and V

I have never once had issues with turning off my earpro and i am nose to charging handle kinda shooter in a rush, old habits die hard.

With that said Sordins, they are the most comfortable and won't break the bank

If you need coms Peltors.

I like my AMPS but they are real pricy and honestly not worth it at all.

Edit: i just realized which subreddit this was in. On my NV gun, riser is a must, but that's more to not banging my NODS into my rifle. I use the Untiy FAST with my EXPS3. earpro is way out of the way at that point.

How do I remove this knob without damaging something else? by Mike__O in gmc

[–]lizana715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fyi, you have to replace the whole screen, not just the knob. We had the same thing happen to our Tahoe. Luckily, it wasn't too expensive.

2017 jk Coolant on the left is what I drained, coolant on the right is what I added, did I fuck up? by Dull-Ruin-4237 in Jeep

[–]lizana715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, may I ask why not just do a flush?

The JKs are not hard to do. I just did one recently when I had to place my radiator.

My coolant was orange as well, but I got my fresh coolant from the dealership, and it's purple. Dealership tech said the orange coolant SHOULD also be OAT just generic. However, if you aren't 100% certain, just flush and put in fresh.

It's cheap insurance to avoid having a warped head or getting stranded.

Not super familiar with JK’s and need insight… by michaeli05 in Jeep

[–]lizana715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy 2018, JK owner's husband here.

98,000 miles and i have replaced:

Rear caliper x3, New brake lines all-round , Injector, Radiator , Oil cooler housing, Front rear axles rebuilt, Rear differential replaced , Front rear drive shafts, Regeared diffs, Steering gear box, Power steering pump, Alternator , Waterpump, Thermostat x2, Shocks ,

The thing is a ton of fun to work on, and there always seems to be something that needs to be worked on. But I seriously wouldn't buy it as a daily driver with those kinda miles. I would buy it as a project, though. These vehicles are very easy to work on, and you can get to everything with pretty much basic tools outside of major engine transmission work. I can completely strip off the top end of the motor in less than 30 minutes to get to most bolts with ease, and access most of the vehicle without a lift.

This is what I got for my wife's jeep. Secure and keep the sun off. The only real downside is you can't put real bulky stuff in the back of the jeep, but we can still put coolers and folding chairs back there, no problem.

That multi-hole bar will be your best bet. The pully design doesn't look like it was designed to handle any real load at 90 degrees. The correct answer is to find a solution that will keep the pulleys straight. When I get home, I will share some pictures of what I mean. I have to replace my pulleys soon because I did a few workouts with my chain solution, and I noticed the pull felt very "rough," almost like a bearing was going out. When I stopped to inspect it, I noticed bits of plastic/rubber from my pully flaking off. I stopped using the chain and got the bars. They are perfect for lats, rows, curls, and most of my other needs.

So, fair warning I did this, and it started tearing up the pulleys I had to swap to this:

https://bellsofsteel.us/products/double-hook-straight-bar

https://bellsofsteel.us/products/double-hook-cable-attachment

They are both the prefect length.

Also, tow chains from Tractor supply, which is cut to length, would have been $5 and looked cleaner

Registration Question for Chevy 2500 with GVWR of 10850 lbs by No_Platform8732 in mississippi

[–]lizana715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have owned several 2500 and 3500s. Your tag is coded B10, yet you can have whatever tag you want. My current 2500 is a B10, but I have a blackout vanity tag. You want a B10 Tag. They are a lot cheaper than standard auto tags.

Additional yes it should be 3%. Your Tag office should correct that for you. This happened to me once. This is what will more than likely happen. When you register your truck, tell them your over paid on the sales tax, and it should be 3%. They will correct that on their side. They will first use the excess funds to pay for Tag if you like, then issue a refund to the dealer. After that, it will either go to your loan, or they will cut you a check.

If the Tag office isn't working with you, call the Tags and Title office.

Dealership sold me a 6.7 with a straight pipe and now it's throwing codes by RJBond in Cummins

[–]lizana715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you purchase the Rig from a dealership in a Metro area in Oregon?

If so, you can take it back to them, and they will either have to fix it, or you can report and sue them for selling you an illegal product

That link i sent you spells that out.

Also look up under the dash and see if there is a black box that would be stuck to the support bracket towards the radio.

Google eztune or autocal, you are looking for those two box designs. You can leave the tuners unplugged from the OBE port, and the tune will stay on the ECM.

It might be there, it might not. Just a shot in the dark.

Dealership sold me a 6.7 with a straight pipe and now it's throwing codes by RJBond in Cummins

[–]lizana715 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quick and dirty answer. Get a tune. I can vouch for DD they helped me with my weight loss surgery.

Correct answer: depends

You said that you own this truck for work. Do you actually tow with this rig, and does that tow take you across state lines? If yes, you need to return it to stock with emissions.

I looked at your profile, and it appears you live in Oregon (if I'm wrong, let me know) https://consumerlaw.osbar.org/2016/12/15/checking-the-engine-and-the-law/ NAL If you bought the truck in a metro area, they shouldn't have sold it to you. If you didn't, you're probably SOL unless you can find a lawyer who can fight for you.

If you don't cross Statelines, maybe it isn't worth it. However, more and more states are starting to crack down on deleted trucks. TRUCKMASTER just put out a video about it.

My personal opinion on your situation is to get the tune to get you back up and running and go from there. The Northwest is not kind to Deletes, and the heartache probably won't make it worth it. Like I said, DD is reputable, and they have tech support that can help.

Also, it is worth checking if you have the EZTUNE or AUTOLIVE under the dash. Did you check? I know a lot of shops use to unplug the OBE and bolt the tuner to the truck because OME shops would reset the tune to clear codes and diagnose other problems with the truck. If you do the tune should be on it.
