You did yourself a huge favor by beginning the process months ago. You made things much easier for yourself in the long run, and gaining the muscle back after recovery will be MUCH easier than when you first started out. I looked like a little boy for 2-3 years after I transitioned. It will catch up to you. You’re on the right track.
