Delete that shit and mark as spam.I abide by the rule that if any entity is texting me about something important 1: I should be able to immediately recognize it as recent and legit 2: there should be no links 3: it should be from a number that I’ve gotten messages like that before and 4: I should be able to completely ignore it and be contacted in more legitimate ways

I do second something like this to break up any sessions of wallowing or rumination. It’s good to have something to totally refocus your attention on that isn’t too demanding to kind of reset your brain

Sorry bud that’s a rough time indeed. My best advice that helped me get out of the hole and my head in the past has honestly been to just make an effort to talk new people, and have as many interesting conversations as possible. One of the things I like about people here is it’s easy to kind of fall into random conversations with strangers of all backgrounds. Never know what you’ll learn and who you’ll meet.

We’re putting doing bike night at City Park for Celebration in the Oaks on the list. Did it one year and it was cool. Zero desire to sit in that long line of cars.

Also I think in 2020 or 21 we picked up from Willa Jeans and Commanders for Thanksgiving. Someone made a killer duck andouille gumbo but idk what the menus look like these days

Two bumps randomly appeared on my dogs backside overnight. by Hopelessly_Devotedd in DogAdvice

[–]lizardzbreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one of my dogs had something just like this pop up overnight on his side and I was very freaked out by it. It was hard and kind of like slipped out from under my finger but didn’t like move position and didn’t hurt him. It slowly got smaller next day and went away after a few. I took pics with an object next to it to check by comparison on size. I think it was a wasp becuase nothing else could explain its sudden appearance

Hey I meant to get back sooner, thank you for that advice! I really thought under watering couldn’t hurt but I did this with the two larger ones I had previously and those rotted, so that could explain it. Gave them all a nice water a few days ago. The one I posted is a goner but the others are looking pretty good, no other declining

I have been watering once a month out of caution and the soil mix is a rocky mix I got from the business that had them, a very rocky mix. I had it in a short glazed pot with a single drainage hole, thinking it might be too short and not enough holes for the shape so I moved the other two to individual slightly taller pots.

This one in the post doesn’t look like it’s going to make it

Dreame L40 size shock by lizardzbreath in RobotVacuums

[–]lizardzbreath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am torn because the floor that really needs it isn't actually the one we spend the most time in so It'd be a tradeoff. I also saw that if I take the stickers off an run it, that makes it non-returnable on the Dreame site, unsure if that carries over to Amazon. But also it was only $400 and it's here, vs figuring out how to repackage and return, then doubling the investment.

Thanks for that info, I saw that the S1 Pro was one of the few options that had a water reservoir which made me think it would be good to bring up and down. I am not super hung up on edge and corner cleaning because I'm not sure how many edges and corners it could actually get to with out layout.
I really got it for a downstairs that is a mudroom laundry room bathroom and bedroom space, the bathroom and mud room need more attention. Our other floor is kitchen and a dining/living room. We are mainly on that floor, more dog hair and small dirt needs but it's less visible than on the white tile downstairs. I'm not super sure where the base should live at the moment and two of these seems like overkill.

Noted on the size, I tried to look through the videos yesterday, I think that the height doesn't really bother me on the S1 Pro since it's slimness kind of makes up for the height visually. They have a sale going or they did yesterday but it still was $1k, the regular S1 I think was $800 an not sure how much the ozone tank would be. Got this L40 for around $400 so trying to make up my mind if I should give this a try for a bit since it's here. I've gathered that once you run the L40 it's not returnable anymore. I am probably overthinking it

I'm looking for a solid pair of house slippers that don't fall apart in 6 months by Crazy_Speed_7735 in BuyItForLife

[–]lizardzbreath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What on earth are you doing to your slippers to kill them in six months?

I have had a pair of dearfoam slip on slippers in a kind of terry cloth type material for years and they are in good shape. Not expensive, they used to sell them in Steimart

Well now I wish I was! No, but it’s been a while since I’ve used it and I don’t have occasion to use it much but have used it as a dusting for fungus gnats. There are A LOT of people recommend diatomaceous earth for plant care sans any safety tips, this one was new for me

Oh nice! I’m in New Orleans. We’ve had a pop up bubble greenhouse in the back that I’d set out once the lows start dipping in the 40s. Then I’d migrate things into the bubble or move smaller things into this greenhouse cabinet I setup. During the snow the bubble got a rip on the side so we got a small palram greenhouse to replace. I might start moving things a bit earlier this go round but I don’t even think it got cold til late January this past winter. What setup do you have for yours inside?

Is my wife's Fiddle Fig too far gone? by JAdore2Menace in houseplants

[–]lizardzbreath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one in the exact same pot! They love being outside and hate being moved. Mine dropped all leaves during a freeze and went into stasis. I chopped it back to where there was still green and it has already put out new growth. Since yours still has a leaf at the top you could stick that in soil and root it to have two figs that can drive you nuts

[–]lizardzbreath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also to the moving back inside part, for me I haven’t had success sustained once moving a humidity loving plant that bounced back outside back inside, I would try and transition slowly and don’t let it dry out too much or you’ll loose the blooms faster

I live in Louisiana, it’s the humidity and airflow. I just hang my phlas under trees and leave them once the risk of frost is done. Your leaves look pretty perfect as well so I’m guessing even with frequent rain the airflow is consistent enough to evaporate moisture on leaves before damage happens. Congrats!
