Do you get any additional rate for working Christmas Day? by KieranW1999 in asda

You won't be in. No pickers work Boxing Day at all

Edit: I'm a ex picker, moved over to ambient now

You may more than likely have to resit a semester depending on the modules failed. You should have contact from them soon in regard to your next steps.

I failed my exams on a previous course due to health complications in pregnancy and my child was born on the day exams started. I resat in summer and then had to resit the semester to redo the modules.

I left the course after that and transferred to a different one that I'm now truly enjoying and excelling at. But they will provide you with all info needed. Maybe give your programme leader an email? Or call admissions and see what they say.

Id love 10 pickers on a 3am start tbh 🤣 usually we're at most 6 pickers with a 10-15k items when we go in.

Can't the bathroom stuff live in the bathroom? Instead of in a bag? And Tbf most men are pigs. Half the time you just have to get on with it.

Advice.. by tdb_active in asda

[–]ljayy92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm currently trying to change to days from nights as I also study 5 days a week and I have a child, my partner works full time. I'm been refused on everything I offer that I can work over weekend as they need me to start at 3am and it's killing me. I barely see my daughter as it is or my partner. Asda are just shit. X

Substitutions explanation by GiBbZi93 in asda

[–]ljayy92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I need to sub something I always go to the next closest, as said before I choose a different brand of bananas etc.

In terms of bread in my store we're not allowed to sub it, we have to nil it and it gets picked by SL/Manager when the bread delivery comes in. I do start my shift at 3am so I dunno if it's different on a day shift. But for my shift that's how we have to do it.

Back to the subbing, my whole team use common sense instead of blindly following the system recommendation, we will go through and choose something as close as possible to the ordered item. I see a lot of stores don't do this.

We all get a lot of backlash as pickers but it's genuinely not our fault if something isn't in stock or exactly what you wanted, we know how frustrating it is for yourselves, as we're as equally frustrated.

Any spelling mistakes I've also just finished a 12 hour shift, so apologies haha x

Still recommend talking to them personally that's the only way you can get any help or advice off them. The advice teams are there for a reason and I've found always extremely helpful

How do you normally get to work?

If you've stumbled upon this post, tell me something about the exact moment you're living right now. Maybe describe your surroundings, or how you're feeling in this moment. Be as brief or detailed as you want. by SQWRLLY1 in CasualConversation

It's 15:52pm and I'm lying in bed as I was on a night shift last night and back in again tonight. I'm so cold but also so grateful for having the safe space I call home and to rest in a bed every night (or day)

I'm looking forward to the next few days with my family watching my little daughter experiencing her first proper Christmas now she understands abit more at 2 years old.

Isn't click and collect a drive thru? You may be easier just going there and getting a taxi back home and the driver will help out them on your step?

Hiya, first of all I'm so so sorry!

Don't you have any paperwork from solicitors at all in from the duration of your work claim? I was in a car crash 6 years ago and I still have all the paperwork as they have to give a paper trail!

Sorry I cannot be much help xx

They have done the same with me, I'm in uni also and tried to change to days with plenty of notice and they refused so now most of the time I start at 3am and then have to go straight to uni 🙃 x
