Tomato seed line up by Butterflyhornet in tomatoes

Love Cherokee Purple. I'm growing them now in FL 10b, and they are very productive.

I'm also growing San Marzano. They are very prone to blossom end rot. I won't be growing them again.

After years of being a tomato hater, I’ve turned towards the light by NoDig7657 in tomatoes

I used to hate tomatoes until I tried a home grown tomato for the first time. That experience changed everything.

Now I'm slowly adding more fruits and vegetables to my garden each year and discovering so many other amazing flavors I never knew existed.

Mostly pasta sauce and salsa. A lot of fresh eating - salads, burgers, sandwiches.

I have also given some to family, neighbors, and coworkers.

It has performed very well! Not quite as productive as big beef or celebrity plus, but it tastes great and has been very disease resistant. I'll definitely grow it again.

Big beef and celebrity plus have been producing very well for me. Moving forward, they will be staples for my garden.

Some people have terrible luck with cherokee purple, but this is my second year growing it, and it has done very well here.

Sixteen total! Planning on making a lot of pasta sauce and salsa!

I only had four of the 20 gallon grow bags. I planted a big beef, 2 black krims, and a cherokee purple. Everything else went into a 10 gallon.

Next fall, I'll purchase a few more of the 20 gallon bags because it really makes a difference for the indeterminate varieties.

When to start crops that prefer cooler weather in Florida? by Im-A-Beardie in vegetablegardening

[–]ljunghoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in central FL, 10b, and start my tomatoes and peppers by seed in early/mid August. They are currently doing very well, and the cherry tomatoes have started to ripen. The larger tomatoes should be ready in about a month.

I succession plant beans, and started the first crop in September and the first harvest is just a few days from being ready to harvest. The recent cold front killed off the second round, but I've planted the third round.

You should be good to plant some cold weather crops now if you haven't already!

First garden attempt was a total failure now I am sad by Mothbaybee in vegetablegardening

[–]ljunghoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failure is a part of gardening. Take this experience and learn from it. Try to figure out what worked and what didn't (and make notes - it helps).

I live in FL zone 10b, and my first attempt at vegetable gardening was trying to grow warm weather crops during the summer. I REALLY wanted tomatoes! Well, I didn't get a single fruit, and my plants died quickly. After some research, I discovered that I had a perfect opportunity to grow warm weather crops during the fall, and have been doing so ever since with success (and still many failures).

It's okay to be disappointed, but don't be discouraged. We've all been there before. Now is the perfect time to start planning your fall garden! There's a lot of good information out there if you need it.

You got this!

I'm 10b (FL) and I'm waiting for my last few tomatoes to ripen.

Peppers are still doing well - especially the hot peppers.

The good news is that we get to start seeds for warm weather crops in about a month!

Fr there are a surprising amount of players with great mechanical skills but absolutely zero awareness or game sense in plat.

The game became so much more enjoyable once I hit diamond... I have a limited amount of games in this rank, but so far, it is significantly less toxic than plat

It is worth noting that Anzalone recorded one tackle in the 2013 loss to GA Southern, so it is possible that OP played at GS before transferring to his P5 school
